I talked to my Dad. He said I should forget this shit and continue working there, because it is always bad to stop an apprenticeship...I should forget this wanker.

I think he is right on the one hand. But on the other hand I think it would be wrong just to forget it. Then he would be the "winner" and thinks he can do anything with his employees...and disrcimnate them, etc...

But if you quit, he won't stop. He'll just find someone else to do it to.

I say if you really like the job, continue working there. Record everything he says like Ian said to do. Then after you become more successful and can afford it, bring it to the public and sue him.

If you quit now he wins. If you stay and make him pay for it later, you win.

Typical of Americans to shout SUE HIM as soon as anyone does anything you don't agree with, technically he hasn't done anything wrong, he's said he is concerned for your health, it's not as if he's sacked you because "you are too fat"

He's not concerned about her heath, he's concerned about her appearance. He is a shallow creep who wants anyone working for him to look a certain way. He's a fucking pig and you shouldn't defend him.

you could defend him if I was REALLY fat....so fat that my health would suffer from it. But I am not that fat....this is the thing!

Well I don't know how fat you are do I?

and I did say technically...which means he could defend himself quite easily, I'm just saying.

and he is fat or is a guy who spend most his time at the gym?

that's so bad julia, i would had understood he told you that if you would had mentioned him you are worried for your weight or something, but if you don't ... seems he just want his workers look as pretty as he'd like to, when he should care about that you improve and show your knowledge/experience on your job, he shouldn't care about other things, and more to make those comments that so bad way.

i think you should tell your parents and your college too (if they are the ones who have organized your practices there), they should know that, i think your boss is not in the right to do what he is doing.

Oh my...that sounds just too weird to be true. Julia is so not a fattie, telling you to lose weight is just plain silly.

Your boss is just being ridiculous..

it's killing me. My head hurts probably because of thinking too much about it...

even if you were really fat, that's not related to the job in any way!

is it the only time he said that to you ?

I wanna say quit but then it's quite complicated..

if you sue, as Nathan said, he could say he only cares for your health which is not a bad thing, plus you still got your job so you dont really have something against him.. if you dont, maybe he'll do it again, and that'd be harassment.

Maybe you should stay and see how it goes. But DONT forget about it or pretend it never happened. be good at your job, be mature about it but make sure he knows he's been disrespectful to you and that it's wrong. As you said, he can't be the winner..

I don't think he wins if you quit, only if you continue working for him. by doing that you would just support him with his ideas. and in my opinion you shouldn't do that cause his behaviour was totally inappropriate. your weight is none of his business. you don't criticise him either, do you? even though you probably could.

if you quit he would lose a good worker.. I mean you said they're happy with the work you do for them.

yeah it's been the first time he said that to me. I think I will see how I can live with this fact and will give it some time. And if it doesn't work I'll definitely quite. I've already found something else I could apply for.

but isn't he doing exactly that, saying she can't continue working for them, should she not lose any weight?!

well that's a good thing. If you end up quiting, I hope this one goes way better ! :)

I would contact the chamber of commerce and ask them for guidance as you're still doing the training ...

And it's definately harassment, even partly in a sexual way as it concerns your appearance.

Unless you don't have a dozen piercings in your face aso. and have a clean and nice appearance (for the customers) its all good :)

Well, this is a very hard decision and I would be torn too.

I guess I would show up there tomorrow, if you stay at home or go on a sick leave, it will give him some victory feeling ... :(

I think contacting the chamber of commerce will be the best thing at first...I think it's possible to ask them for advise without them contacting my boss...

I even had to tell him what my exact weight is and he told me what I should weight. I said 70 kilos would be right for me and he said even 65kg are still too much for a woman.

It's psycho terror. It definitely is. As if society wasn't bad enough for many women. All this pressure. And now even bosses are like that.

he said even 65kg are still too much for a woman.

:shocked2: WHAT THE HELL!!!?!?!? :veryangry2::veryangry2::veryangry2::veryangry2:

I just read the first post and what a fucking prick! Julia, you so don't deserve that and you should quit that job and sue his ass!Damn, i'm pissed

....women who are as tall as me: 1,74m

You're quite tall I think. Even I am 1.70m tall :disappointed:

But, he sucks! :furious3:

My english is really bad, so I can't comment any further. I hope you can deal with him, Jules. Don't let he win!! :veryangry2:
