Coldplay at North Americas greatest venue?

Do I want to go? FUCK YEAH!

I origonally saw all the dates and thought to myself George WA, and cried cause they are going to some obscure WA town and not Vancouver. Then I rethought it, and said "HOLY CRAP!!! GORGE!!!!"

IS this the Festival they are playing?

Nope. The only festival at the Gorge is Sasquatch, which always occurs during Memorial Day Weekend. Coldplay had been rumored as a possible headliner (which they did in '02 at Sasquatch), but the July date effectively nulls that possibility.

Yeah they will ask you something like: What was Coldplays first major hit in the US? you answer Yellow. Bam first row.

I saw them at a festival so no need for that.

What are the possibility of Pearl Jam hitting up the Gorge again anytime soon. Im dying to see them, and its their favorite venue. So Im really hoping.

Concert presales: Coldplay at the Gorge

Coldplay continues to bypass Seattle on its tour supporting “Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends,” which won best rock album at Sunday’s Grammy ceremony.

But hey, good news, the group is playing a July show at the Gorge, a fittingly scenic space for its arena-sized anthems. Going to the show may mean taking a drive, but it should be worth the trip.

I saw Coldplay before, at an ampitheater show outside Milwaukee. At one point, frontman Chris Martin said we were the best audience on the whole tour. I thought, “In Milwaukee? Dubious.” But he delivered that old trope with such sunny conviction, you almost believed him.

Coldplay is not the only good concert going on sale this week. Ladytron and the Faint are teaming up for a pretty great double bill of indie dance music. And, for all those 1990s Seattle rock fans, Candlebox is playing an intimate show at Neumos.

Check out the details below. Click on the group’s name to buy tickets. And if you know of any good shows I missed, toss the info in the comments section.

Coldplay, at the Gorge, George, presale from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, $35 to $97.50. Password is “mountain.” Tickets for the July 11 show on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Saturday.

It will not be rainy at the Gorge in July. Central WA in the summer is like a desert. It will probably be hotter than hell. I saw Pearl Jam there in Jul06 - and it was triple-digit heat.

For radio presale, has anyone received The End (107.7) presale code? Sounds like The Mountain (103.7) presale code is "mountain" - but I was hoping to have a backup presale password just in case.

Just got my email from 107.7 The End with their pre-sale password. So, it looks like we have several options when going thru ticketmaster:

Ticket Rush Presale Password: VENUE

Radio Presale Password (103.7): mountain

Radio Presale Password (107.7): theend

Good luck tomorrow!

I did the san diego pre-sale this morning, and had tabs open for both ticketmaster and ticket rush. Ticket master originally gave me lawn seats, while ticket rush gave me seats in the 100's. I went round and round on both sites, and I feel like ticket rush in general had better seats up.

Just sayin.

See you at The Gorge!

Can someone explain to me how this pre-sale is going to work this morning? Do I need to be on Livenation.com or ticketmaster.com? Every time I try and go to ticketrush.com, it sends me directly to Livenation.com. I'm just scared I'm not going to be able to figure out what the hell I'm doing...

Thanks for your help
