February 16, 200917 yr I still don't really get it. We make a keychain...then what?:confused:Exactly, i really don't see the point of making a project just for the sake of doing one. And something like that is pretty empty and meaningless (in my opinion). Whereas, the Postcards project was arguably perfect, and very well timed, too. It was relevant, and not overdone. And I don't think we'll have the oppertunity to make anything quite as special for a LONG time.
February 16, 200917 yr Author yeah, we don't have to, actually i think we should wait till maybe a new album is out, i just wanted to see everyones thoughts
February 16, 200917 yr ^Even then, I don't think there's much point in doing another project that involves sending stuff to the band, because it will never have the same impact as this one did. And planning to organise something for the release of the next album is the wrong way to think about these things - the Postcards project just WORKED, mostly because it wasn't planned beforehand to celebrate the release of anything. It was a product of INSPIRATION.
February 16, 200917 yr Yeah I would say wait a while before another massive send to Coldplay :) If travel and money weren't major hurdles, I would say we should all get together and have a big fan party :P
February 16, 200917 yr If travel and money weren't major hurdles, I would say we should all get together and have a big fan party :PNow that WOULD be awesome :D :P
February 16, 200917 yr Please can we savour the results of the Postcards first. Its one of the most awesome days I've had as a member of this board. Plus, one of the things that hasn't been picked up on yet is Debs. She was a huge part in making the Postcards Project successful. She's gone beyond the call of duty in helping us out, and a lot of what has happened couldn't have happened/worked so well without her. We can't just expect her to help us out all the time. We love her, but don't want to abuse her generosity.
February 16, 200917 yr Now that WOULD be awesome :D :P Haha glad you agree :) Maybe if we figure out teleportation, we'd be on our way. ......hey I'm optomisitic, so one day guys!! For now I'm still on a high from the Coldplay history we just made and getting Coldplay.com's name out to them. :P :D
February 16, 200917 yr I think Jen is right... maybe we should lock this thread now and unlock it when inspiration comes much, much later in the future...
February 16, 200917 yr We love her, but don't want to abuse her generosity. What if she was about to get me a big hat? (I apologise...I just went into silly mode for a sec)
February 16, 200917 yr ^Rude much? All the guy was trying to do was keep riding on the good feelings around here and bring everyone together for another project. Sure he's off the mark but there is no reason for you to post that. I agree with RedGirl76, lets get a lock on this thread and pull it out later when inspiration hits in the distant future.
February 17, 200917 yr Well, may I quote, yeahhright, from the Committee thread and the newsletter from 30th December 08 about the first Committee meeting: 1) We talked about the Postcards from far Away project' date=' [b']we agreed that it was really fun and should be just a one-off and something to remember![/b] Yet Simon's intentions in this thread are to start another project. Interesting, no?
February 17, 200917 yr That Secret Santa action sounds really great! Too bad I wasn't here yet when that happened :bigcry:
February 17, 200917 yr I also think the Postcards Project was great, but okay for now. Maybe in a few years, when they release a new album ;) (Oh wait, if the new album is released this year..then the album after that:P)

Of course not! ;), I just wanted to see everyones thoughts, I now think if we do something like it again we should do it maybe after the next album! :)

Just curious.

February 17, 200917 yr I just wanted to see everyones thoughts when they were high on Postcards fever! Very well
February 17, 200917 yr I've just watched the video where Coldplay were opening the postcards. I was so happy to see them even though i didn't see my postcard that was snowed under so many others. It must have been a great pleasure for you, Debs to film them. What a delight to watch this short but great video. I hope this event will start again at the end of this year. It would be great.
