Good plan.

Nominate your favourite thread of February, or this cute kitten gets it

Oi! I think you'll find, I have done a post like that on this forum before :smug: except it was a different cat.

And did it work for you?

Well so far 4 threads has been nominated, it would be nice to get a couple more threads nominated for the poll

I nominate my thread, even though it doesn't qualify. :smug:

If you'd have done march I could've nominated my "5000 posts" thread :D but you didnt :(

I'm going to change the rules from next month, from any new thread created in march to any thread which had been posted in, in march.

That might be a bad idea. Someone might just post in an old dead thread to bump it up so it can be nominated.

Though why someone would care so much is beyond me. :\

What about any thead ever created?

Or even that Rick.

With the added rule that once a thread has won the thread of the month award it can't win a 2nd.

gah i was going to post my nominations tomorrow... now i'm late. well, i'll vote on the poll then :)

I'm going to turn this into a discussion thread to get the best out of the system.

1 - Rename it to something along the lines of "Coldplaying's Forum Threads Hall of Fame"

2 - The nominations would be open to any thread ever created

3 - The only threads not allowed are ones which have previous been given Hall of Fame status (a previous winner) or are not visible to the general membership (threads in closed off areas of the forum in which not every member can view)

4 - If nominations are open to any threads, that would give a long list of nominations, so I would suggest the top 10 nominated threads getting though into the final poll, which could increase if there is a draw in terms of nominations.

What do you guys and gals think?

Be honest, if you think it's a crap idea just say it's a crap idea

so there will be a the year thread award, with a final poll next year including the 12 winners?

Sounds fine to me.

But I forgot what the point of this is. What's the point of this?

Good point :P

The point I would guess is to give Hall of Fame status to threads which the members feel deserve a little mention in the Hall of Fame for whatever reason.

no cause some people would nominate totally shit threads. like the name ones, birthday ones, hot men ones, things that aren't really worth it at all.

the only thread that should be in here is the coldplaying committee thread cause it was just a hilarious idea start to finish.

and the "this is amazing" thread because in truth, most of the replies are "wow!" or some variant. so it was obviously spectacular.

Committee thread did stir up the most controversy ever. It led to friendships and hearache.

Farewell to the fairground,

These rides aren't working anymore.

Goodbye to this dead town,

Until the ice begins to thaw.

Keep on running, keep keep on running, there's no place like home, there's no place like home

This is a good point...
