good luck to both of you!! i hope you get as lucky as i did!!! :nice:!!!!

Do you think they would do something like that for me? Instead of the refund and then turn right around and buy them again, they'd exchange?

I just talked to them. The lady said if I call back tomorrow morning that they could probably give me a refund. She said Coldplay's people only give them certain sections to presell. EEEEEVERY seat is available tomorrow morning. So I'm gonna call back at exactly 10 and see if they can, instead of a refund, just switch me tickets (it doesn't sound like something they'd do, but I'll be persistant)

haha whoa!! EVERY single seat is available tom. morning??? wtf??!!! i just talked to a really nice girl on the phone and she siad to try again monday and it seems like they dont tell their customer service ppl that much info anyway...cus she didnt even kno if there was a pit sec . or not and i am almost positve that there is...i will check tom. too then thanks! :D

the girl i talked to said they only do taht in special conditions....so maybe they would for us :P im gonna beg them to do it if they can! :P

I reeeeeeeeeeallly hope they can exchange them instead of refunding me, waiting till it clears, and then rebuying them when all the good seats are taken!

i usually hate customer service people but, right now, i'm in love with one in particular. :laugh4:!!

They keep telling me that they can NOT do it. That there are NO exchanges or refunds whatsoever. HOW did you get that person to do it? Seriously, what did you tell them? What did they tell you?

can regular sale tickets be better than pre-sale tickets?

can regular sale tickets be better than pre-sale tickets?

It depends, I got a better ticket on the general sale. As you can see on my signature, I got two separate seats on Section 7 on the Tampa venue.

Section 7 is not as bad as it sounds, I'll be seating on the 17th row from the left side of the stage.

I got that seat because:

a) I search for a single ticket for me, then for a single ticket for my sister

b) I did the general sale, where all sections are supposed to be available, rather the alloted sections for the pre-sale

c) I searched around 2339483720 times!

Overall, pre-sales are traumatic, stressing and BS!

AMEN!!! Just talked to LITERALLY 1000000000 customer service people!!!

AMEN to that

so i am guessing all day today people didn't have luck with pre-sales? and are tickets still good for the gerneral sale? Like are there still tickets close to the stage left?

Yeah. Thats pretty much all thats left are the best seats. Presales are ONLY a select few sections that are available

Same story for me. Got online right at 10 last friday, armed with multiple Pre-sale codes. And well i got the shaft. Now Im against the back wall. I was ready to raise some hell. I was upset, it ruined my day. Till they added the second show. So same thing, and I was qucick this time, 5 seconds at most. Well it payed off. Section 106 Row 4.

This is in GM Place vancouver, 20 sections side stage being 104. So Im pretty satisfied with my new seats. I get to see them twice, two different angles. A true die hard fan in the nose bleeds. And a true die hard fan in the thick of things 20 feet away from the stage.

Im sorry for your ticket woes. My advice, cant beat them, join them. I fully intend to install the programs they use, as to not get shafted for U2. I dont see the problem of an actual fan doing what they do to get tickets, and good ones at that. I say "Fuck you" to all you god damned scalpers, youre scum and should be ashamed of yourselves.

Im gonna go, and have the time of my life. You didnt ruin for me, and you arent getting my hard earned cash.

Im still really pissed. Im going to give it a shot tomorrow, hopfully i can get something worth the money. Im just aiming at the front 3 sections

i cant believe how much you have to pay in FEES! not only do you get a crappy selection but then to add insult to injury they charge you every fee they can think of!!

Well I kept my shit ones. But I got within 3 sections. Pick up whatever comes first. Of the 20 or so people, I have the best tickets. I did it as fast as possible, and just bought the first 2 that came up. You'll get good seats!

And to all you people with ticket woes. Just remember, no matter what, you are all going to see Coldplay! Dont let ticketmaster ruin it for you!

My brother had pit seats for me, but the dumb ass site wouldn't let him order them!!!!!:veryangry2: So now i'm stuck in section 201 row v, right in front of the fucking lawn. The kicker? He did this at 10 and people who got on at 3 pm to do it are in section 101 and have way better seats than me.

Livenation sucks ass and presales are dumb as shit, that's my opinion.

My question is how do people get those tickets that are on sale on stubhub before any of the sales....that they are charging 1000 for??? Also if you got crap tickets just buy tickets again at the general sale...its Coldplay, you will be able to sell whatever crap you have.

I was prepared for dissapointment by reading a thread made around January called "2009 North American presales???" where this member called TigerMilk made some realistic assessments on how the presales work and ticketing in general. He says he worked for Tickermaster as an auditor, so no wonder he knows a lot. He might sound blunt, but I think he was being realistic.

Nevertheless, if Live Nation, Ticketmaster, or whoever had at least the decency to put an asterik * saying "pre-sale tickets are only certain alloted sections. If you want a close seat, shell out some major $$$$$$" :dozey:

a) they are hackers

b) they are roadies

c) they are employees of the venue, local radio station, or corporate sponsor

d) they are lying, it's a scam

EDIT: forgot about the people sleeping with the high-up people who sell $$$ for the close seats.

YET think about it, who is worse? The scalper or the idiot who pays those $1000!?

I feel so sorry for the Latin American fans. The dirty little secret, in my opinion, is that Coldplay keeps coming to the US because there are enough dumb people eager to pay $$$$ for the closest seats and VIP packages.

SERIOUSLY!!??? We're in a recession!

Oh, I hate those rich b*tches who probably don't know the Viva La Vida lyrics that well! :veryangry:

The only exception I make for buying at over-the-top prices is that if it is for charities like Oxfam.

i have 4 sets of tickets to charlotte. i just bought and tried again. i know they'll sell, so who cares. i might sell them all if i can get better seats for atlanta. or go to both. that's ideal.

No. People want to see them so they'll play there. There's no dirty little secret.

Hi Cobalt!

Unlike in Australia, the concert-goers in the US vary in what kind of fans they are. Seriously, coldplayers who have gone to US concerts tend to complain about how they are the only ones who sang along to most or all the songs in their row or section. OR how the crowd wasn't enthusiastic, OR how they hear people asking what is the name of the front man or stupid questions like that (!!!????)

It would be such an issue if the seating system was not rigged.

Most of the US venues don't have a General admission pit, which allows hard-core fans to be close to the stage if they purchase a ticket.

The best seats end up in hands of scalpers or people who are willing to resell them to those who have tons of money to buy them. Most often than not, these people who buy these tickets at ridiculuosly high prices just buy them to go to the concert and appear cool, not because they actually Coldplay followers

It looks like I am blaming Coldplay for want to make profit.

Actually, it's those involved in organizing the concert and ticketing who are to blame for the inflated prices.

anyone done a presale on ticketmaster? i used livenation, but not ticketmaster. how does it work?
