Your Ticket Issues: Pricing; Availability; Seats etc (previously titled presales are bull)

Exceptionally wrong information. I've never been able to get "great" seats on Ticketbastard even when I'm ALWAYS refreshing as soon as tickets go on sale. .

wow, looks like i really got lucky here...Well i know all my experience with presales from ticketmaster/livenation have always been crappy. The only presales ive ever had success with are the ones that were from the bands website which they no longer have. I can only say this enough times to the people in responce to my posts..for this experience with coldplay tickets it was"section 8" for presale and "Pit" for public sale. You pick which is the greater of the 2.

Thank you for your response, twiqz, but there's no reason to get all upset that I didn't read your original post. If it bothers you that I "didn't read the thread before asking a question," then you can simply not choose to answer my question. Or, even better, how about just kindly answering the question without making the one who asked feel stupid.

Im sorry alsisla but i had meant no dis-respect to you what-so-ever when i reponded to your question. Its just my expression, i apoligize if you took it the wrong way. Hopefully after reading these posts it can give you a better idea on how to go about purchasing future coldplay tickets.

could you answer my question I posted on the previous page about pit tickets showing up (but not being available) during the pre-sale? Did the option suddenly popped-up the day of the general sale or what?

I have a question for those who got Pit tickets:

did they showed up only on the general sale?

what did the website and the seating map showed for the pre-sale?

I ask because tomorrow it's West Palm's general sale. I hope there will be a pit. Otherwise, I'll buy a pit ticket in Atlanta or DC, if they are still any left tomorrow.

"did they showed up only on the general sale?"

Yes they showed up ONLY on the general sale, that is the only time you will see Pit tickets is when they are on general sale, ide put my yearly salary on it that you'll NEVER see pit tickets on a ticketmaster or livenation presale.

"what did the website and the seating map showed for the pre-sale? "

The website and seating map for the pre sale only showed rsv1 ,rsv2 ,rsv3, and Lawn seats available. You can select and purchase any of these seats but the seations they gave you were basically the worst sections for your money.

Good luck because youll need it. From what i understand i got lucky. Again, All i did was kept hitting refresh 5 minutes when the tickets went on sale on Livenation.com. Then the buy tickets link lit up where i was then able to click on then select my 'Pit' tickets on the next page which later made me $248.00 less richer but hopefully worth it.

Thanks so much! :)

Yeah, the guy in Atlanta who got Pit tickets found out about because someone else told him on the Altanta thread when the general sale started.

But people in the other threads of concerts that have a Pit were commenting these same things about the Pit area and tickets suddenly showing on the general sale, while there was NO hint about it during the pre-sale.

Those Ticketbastards and LiveNation-bastards! :veryangry2:

I'm like dying here til tomorrow at 10am.

On the LiveNation page of the Cruzan Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, I looked up concerts by other artist, and most of them are gonna have Pit.

Good Lord, if only Coldplay also had a Pit at this venue :bomb:

i posted this on the pittsburgh show thread, but i'll toss it here too since it fits in w/ the topic.

i originally grabbed 6 tickets together during the presale thinking it would probably be super unlikely i'd get anything better during the general sale for that many in a row. out of curiosity i checked as the tix went to the general sale and it looked like i guessed right since the best i could come up with at noon were all 15+ rows behind what i got in the presale.

since i'd heard livenation releases tickets in intervals, i checked again when i got home around 4:30 that afternoon to see where the best grouping was. when the page loaded, GA Pit tix were available and I was able to grab 6 at once. so now i'm left with 6 pavilion seats (which are actually good seats) that i'll need to sell, but i'll gladly take a hit to get me and a few first time coldplay fans together in the pit.

and in my last buying experience i was able to get 2 front and center section floor seats for cleveland in the best buy presale... so i guess its not impossible to find good ones in certain presales.

i guess the best way to describe the whole livenation/ticketmaster system is that it is just mostly unpredictable.

Most band have a fan club that looks out for there fans. Now again alot of scalpers could us this to there advantage too but maybe it should be like this, a forum...and you are only eligible for this vital information only after you make a certain pre-determined number of legitimate posts about Coldplay.

No worries twiqz:)

For those of you with crappy seats, there's good news! Ticket exchanging is possible!!! But, of course, one has to be persistent when calling Ticketmaster or LiveNation.

As you all know, the presales weren't that great. So I waited until the general sale to purchase my tickets. The seats were better, but they weren't what I wanted. So I settled for them thinking this was the best that will be offered to me. I went back to the Ticketmaster website to see if there's anything better and lo and behold! There were center seats available! I couldn't believe it! So I called up the Ticketmaster customer service number and asked them if I could exchange my tickets for the same price. Unfortunately, I was told this is not possible and not part of their policy. Two hours later, I called again and was told the same thing. I couldn't see why not. So, I called again. Luckily, I was able to upgrade my tickets for the same price.:)

It really doesn't hurt to try. Just remember to be polite. Also, the two times that I was rejected was when I spoke to female representatives. I only got lucky when I spoke to a male rep. Perhaps the guys are more lenient.:D

Hey, thanks for this tip!

Yeah, two people were able to get a refund for tickets that they bought on pre-sale after they got better ones on the general sale, and they did excatly what you're describing. Mind you, this was on the first announced concerts that went on sale.

anywho, I'll try this.

I already emailed Live Nation about the "click-and-pick"seating chart for the Tampa and West Palm Beach concerts showing a GA Pit when these Pit tickets were not offered for sale neither on the pre-sale nor the general sale.

Must.be.persistent. :smug:

What number did you call to reach customer service, I dont find it on there web site. I sent email but its too easy to say no over email. I would rather talk to someone.

I can confirm that they will exchange your tix if you are super nice in asking. I got my tickets for Dallas changed to the pit after they opened it up. I had to keep persisting through several "no"s, but it definitely paid off! :D

Here is the link to find the number to call (in the US): http://www.ticketmaster.com/h/customer_serve.html

Good luck!!

I submitted my request at 11:00:04 (checked my page logs in my browser), and you know what I got? Section 103, Row HH. Yes, in the front section, but the absolute LAST row. And certainly not worth 130 bucks when the seats on the other side of the aisle behind me would have been 30 dollars cheaper. Ridiculous.

Sheesh, you are lucky you got that! do you think its just you clicking at 11:00?

Ooops, wrong thread :embarassed:

Oh well...bump? :P
