What Is The First Coldplay Song You Ever Heard?

Featured Replies

I am pretty sure it was Fix You, sometimes I get so confused I can hardly remember anything now a days. Hmmm it was like when I was 9 so my mind was probably in the twighlight zone anyway.

Clocks, ( it may have been the scientist, it was in a commercial, but clocks was the first one I knew was coldplay) . VLV got me into coldplay

I saw the video for "Yellow" in 2000, back when MTV still played music.:dozey: I think I heard it a few times on the radio too. I liked them instantly, but it wasn't until AROBTTH that I really got into them.

I used to hear Yellow played on the radio a long time ago (well...not really) when I was younger. But I didn't even know it was Coldplay back then.

Otherwise, it would probably be Clocks, in like 2007. Well, the one that I knew was for sure Coldplay, anyway. I was a late bloomer. :uhoh:

My younger cousin was watching MTV or something and they showed "Yellow" and he made fun of Chris :( (something about his mouth or his accent?.. he's crazy) but we both loved the song.

@starsshine715 yes, exactly! when MTV still played music vids.

Maybe Yellow, but i didn't know if it was Coldplay song at that time, but then it's In My Place that actually got me hooked XD

I was 38 when I first heard Shiver, I loved it, and then Yellow came out and I thought what a sappy nonsensical song, then in the summer I bought Parachutes and thought Don't Panic sounded alittle like the Kinks, Loved Trouble, and so the relationship with Coldplay began, we've been together longer than some marriages:laugh3:

p.s. I do love that silly nonsensical song:D

Clocks and i already got into Coldplay :)

this is one of the reasons why it's my fave :nice:

Speed of sound :\

I can't believe I've never heard of them before

Speed Of Sound. I didn't like it very much. :(

I remember hearing snippets of Clocks when it first came out (it was everywhere) and being very fond of the tune, but I was too young to really appreciate it :(

I think it was In My Place, when I watched the video on tv :nice:

It was probably Yellow, or most likely Trouble, but that was without knowing who the band were. The first song I properly remember hearing and finding out who sang it was Clocks. Brit Awards 2003, performed that song - my first encounter with Coldplay.

Talk......I was in my car comming home from college and suddenly Talk begins on the radio, I wanted to know which song was that and the band that played it, so i has TrackID so i used it and...well the rest is history :P

Yellow. I was a teenager and my family got cable that year for the first time since I was a kid. I remember thinking it was so cool I finally had MTV, (only to watch it die shortly after) anyway on came this pleasant little song with a dude walking down a beach lol.

It was Yellow, I remember when it was first released, my girlfriend told me about this amazing new band and new song that she had heard and was trying to explain it to me - I remember it distinctly because she then said that she had thought it was perfect for the way she felt about me - eventually a few days later I heard it and saw the video and thought - hmmm, he's definitely CUTE! Little did I know it would be the prelude to many many years of appreciation for the band and a slowly growing obsession for Chris, all starting with one awesome song so many years ago!
