^Thanks Jackie!!

^Thanks Jackie!!

Of course! It was great!!!

here[/url] is my latest story if you want to read. It's actually poetry, in which I break all the rules.

Now my biggest complaint applies to all the stories and that is that this whole forum thing is really not a convenient way to read fic. We definitely need some sort of fic archive. I mean, there are tons of them for Harry Potter, so why not Coldplay? Granted it's a much smaller fandom, but it would be awesome to have an archive. Or at least you guys could try and post your fics on AO3, which, if you're uninformed, is a very awesome archive with an excellent tagging system, PLUS it allows RPF, unlike fanfiction.net, which would be essential for Coldplay fic. So yeah. I love AO3. You guys should really prance on over there and join the fun. There might not be a large audience for you fic there, but I think it'd be nice in that your fic would be easier to read.

awww, i thought that was a lovely poem. :wacky: rules are meant to be broken, eh?

i have signed up for this site... well, i have to wait for an invitation thingy or whatever, but yeah. i'm number 7 on the waiting list. :charming: :P

Interesting poem.

Enjoyed the style.

I'm just posting to apologise for my lack of new chapters for Stonehenge and Crossfire!

I know this is a crap excuse but...I have not been able to think of anything other than my GCSE results which I get on TUESDAY...the day after tomorrow! I am so scared! Haha!

:P

^Simon----good luck with your results!

We love your stories but understand that other stuff happens.

Hi Finny/Betsy! I'm Katie :nice:

have you gone through all the stories here? I wouldn't blame you if you didn't, it is a lot to go through:P

But if you haven't, and you'd like to read mine, you can easily read all of my stories here. As you can see, there are 3 separate blogs. If you ever have time, I'd love for you to review them for me :)

@Simon Don't worry, I understand how that is.

Hi again. Thanks for the kind comments about my little HP poem.

And Kyra, the problem with fanfiction.net is that they don't allow RPF, which is what our fic would be. AO3 is open to that and has most of the features fanfiction.net has (Like communities, which they call collections on AO3), plus a really nice tagging system so you can tell what pairing a fic is and some other features it has. For example, if you decided to write a fic in which Chris is an orthodox Jew and falls in love with say Will you could tag that fic with "Jewish character." It's a really excellent archive, I think, though not yet perfect (For example they don't have the subscription feature that fanfiction.net has, although they're working on it.). If you guys all join we could make a collection there together. That would make older fics a lot easier to find, I think. And by the way, I'm also Finny over there, just so you know.

And coldplayisawesome--I don't remember your name. Was it Brooke? There was definitely a Brooke somewhere--thanks for friending me. I need more friends who like Coldplay as I currently have no one. My whole family NEVER likes things I like and it depresses me.

And guys, I'll do my best to review your stories as I have time. Gosh, I'm in high demand. ;) Makes me feel special.

EDIT: Also, Katie, is there anything in particular you're dying to have read? And as for what I've read, to be honest I've only read about half of one fic so far (Cemeteries of London). I'm liking you guys; you all seem really nice and very welcoming.

EDIT NUMBER TWO: YOU GUYS SHOULD ALL TOTALLY FRIEND ME LIKE SHE DID SO WE CAN BE ONE BIG HAPPY COLDPLAY-OBSESSING FAMILY! (Or rather, so I can join the family that already exists.)

@Finny Well, if you have the time, I'd like it if you read this one :)

i am indeed Brooke, and you are very welcome :awesome:

i know what it's like to have friends/family who don't share your interests. it sucks. :P

Yeah. It's very aggravating. I admit I'm sort of the kind of person that likes to push my interests on others because if I think it's awesome, why doesn't the rest of the world, which I think my family really dislikes.

And Katie! I totally reviewed the first chapter of that fic. My apologies to Dianna, who I probably should have reviewed first since you asked first. I will get to you in good time.

I forgot about that detail.

Haha. It happens. Obviously we could just ignore it. I mean, they don't allow NC-17 stuff and people sort of say eff that and put it up anyways. But I still say AO3 is the best route for an easier way of posting fic.

Brand New Start: awww! Talk it all out....

@Simon Good luck with the results!

Guys...that idea of a French Revolution AU...I'm getting this mad temptation to write it myself. I really shouldn't. I don't know enough about the French Revolution to write a fic about it (Although I did read Twelve Who Ruled by R.R. Palmer, which is about the Committee of Public Safety. So Robespierre, Saint-Just, Barère, etc.) I'm horribly tempted to write some sort of angsty fic in which Chris--or should I call him Christophe for authenticity?--gets sent to the guillotine for uh stealing something. And it's all angsty and the rest of the boys are miserable. Maybe they try and break him out of prison and end up getting themselves guillotined as well? Or perhaps one of the others claims to be the thief and takes the chop in his place? Wouldn't that be the pinnacle of misery? I really need to resist this urge right now.

By the way, I've now reviewed at least one chapter of a fic from each person that asked (I think? Was there anyone I missed? Do speak up if you want a review. I'm reading and willing, provided I have the time.). So that's good news. I'm gonna do my best to continue reviewing the fics, okay? I hope they were good reviews and helpful.

no, no, listen to the urge. follow the urge. :wideeyed:

i do have a story you could review... but i will let you finish the others first. :P

Well my major in college was European history. With an emphasis in the French Revolution. So if you are going to write this one, be aware that I will be very critical.

That said.....go for it.

I, for one, would love to read something that you wrote.

It will be horribly angsty if I do, I'm sure. It also might be written in the second person, which I've come to really like writing. It's not at all good for long pieces like novels and such, but for the short pieces I tend to write it can be excellent. And I'll probably end up giving them silly French versions of their names using my French-English dictionary (for their surnames, which, fortunately, can be cut into normal words and roughly translated, though I can't guarantee what I come up with will be a real French name).

So.

Chris=Christophe Martin

Guy=Guy Baiehomme (Literally taking what my dictionary says is berry and mashing it with homme, which I know is man)

Will=Guillaume Champion (Champion is, apparently, a cognate)

Jonny=Jean Mâleterre (Again, I took the word for buck+the word for land and mashed them together. And you'll notice that Jean=John, not Jonathan. Well I couldn't find a French equivalent to that name so I just used Jean. Live with it.)

The French folks on this forum would probably laugh at my ridiculous Frenchization of their names (Or maybe they wouldn't. They're very nice you know. They helped me figure out what "L'imagination au pouvoir" means.), but it's fun to do, you gotta admit.

Okay. I'll try and write it. It'll probably be grossly historically inaccurate, but what can you do? Oh yeah. Research. Well there's a problem with that. I have over $30.00 in fines on my library card so I can't really go and get books on the French Revolution from the library.

Oh and I'll tell you when I'm done with the other fics I've got on my plate, okay?

Well if I do end up doing it I'd love some help, perhaps beta reading. Because I know I shouldn't get myself into these things without help. I would probably fail miserably, no matter what I wrote, though.

peut-être tu peux utiliser les noms que les gens sont nés avec, car je pense que le histoire serait bon comme ça. et... Guy = Gui aussi? je ne suis pas certain. :P

oh, if you want to do research, you could always just google stuff.

all right, then. i don't want to overload you with stuff to read. :P

Perhaps it'd be best to stick with what I know. I actually have another idea related to something I do know VERY welll. That's Harry Potter. It'd definitely be fun to send the boys to Hogwarts--although if I could get help with the sorting that'd be great. I don't know the personalities of the guys very well (I haven't watched many interviews, plus I just don't know them personally) so it'd be hard to say what house they're in. I do have a habit of sorting people and characters so it'd be fun to sort them, though. What houses do you think the guys would be in? Any Slytherins among their number? Of course I can always just put them in my own house (Hufflepuff) and be done with it. By the way, if you're unfamiliar with the Hogwarts houses, here are the Sorting Hat's songs.

And I'm not positive about the name Guy. There's that one French writer, Guy de Maupassant, so it definitely is used there. But I just checked my French Dictionary and gui is apparently mistletoe in French. Who knew? Somehow I doubt French people would name their kid Mistletoe (Unless they're like Chris, in which case they might be all over it. ;)).

EDIT: Speaking of Googling stuff, a while ago I found this really neat website. It's in French and it seems to list the names of practically everyone guillotined.
