^ Hello little kid! :lol:

Stop being ageist............................. :rolleyes:

Well if that's you in your avatar, you still look pretty young (from what i can see, lol) :wacky:

Oh thanks...I hope so...lol

Whaddya mean?!:confused:

Ok, I don't want to get too deep in statistical analysis...

But basically what they are trying to say is that it is not easy to calculate an arithmetic mean from your poll!

The intervals you chose are not the same.

If I had this data in a survey / paper I'd write a letter of complaint to the author :lol:

All you could do to use at least some bits of it (age group 12-40):

To calculate the mean you'd have to do the following:

(15-12)/ 2 +12= 13,5 --> 4 years

(21-16)/ 2 +16= 18,5 --> 6 years

(30-22)/ 2 +22= 26 --> 9 years

(40-31)/ 2 +31= 35,5 --> 10 years

The last option... well, is not usable.

Let's do it anyways!

Currently:

So it's 13,5* 28= 130,5 etc...

130,5+ 1276,5+ 546+ 426 = 2379

133 votes so far, 8 excluded = 125

2379/ 125 = 19,032 for the age group of 12-40.

BUT

All of this is useless as the intervals are not evenly distributed and the last option couldn't be included in the calculation above.

So the only statement possible is that the average age of the group of people between 12 and 40 is 19 years of age. (at the moment I calculated...)

Hope I didn't confuse you, but I did it just for fun. :P

But I like children :cry:

And the final poll option is distinctly ageist.:dozey:

I think Mark chose the wrong option......

I have to agree here...while I'm *only* 43, I sure don't feel like it. Off to CVS to make sure I don't look 43. :lol:

Dianne, I am going to the salon on thurs. so they will make me look 45 instead of 47:laugh3:

48. But I feel young and I've been told I don't look my age. And Coldplay is my life. Live for their music and Chris :). And Cobolt, I love your avatar. I just love The Matrix.

I'm joining the 'way too much time on my hands' brigade, I'm 33! I don't look anywhere near that age, not only do I look young but I am quite short and slim. There are 14 year olds that look older than me! I don't believe my age, I feel like I'm 20.

Good for you! That's more than half the battle!!:D

...show-off. My figure of 22.5 > that.

Notice how everyone who is under the age of 25 says like "I'm 16 BUT I'm turning 17 soon"

and people above 20 say "age#-I look much younger though"

:P

Well there are certain prejudiced people on here who seem to think that's what people over a certain age should be doing. Obviously they should be ashamed of themselves.:rolleyes:

you speaking from experience there? :\

I am 51 and still young at heart.:wink3: On 16 August 2009 I will be at my second Coldplay Concert singing along to the wonderful songs and enjoying the wonderful performances from the 4 very talented people on stage! There is a very good saying with the meaning that you're not older than you make yourself. There are examples of young people behaving as old people and of old people behaving as young people. It is really what you make of it. VIVA LA VIDA! :laugh3::rolleyes:;)

"VIVA LA VIDA" indeed!!! :D

but it's true....why hide that fact of life? :P

:P

Ha, I noticed that too :P

I've never really understood what's wrong with looking your age :thinking:

I'm 25, I look 25 and I for the life of me can't understand why in the world anyone would rather to look younger. People who age gracefully are people who accept and embrace their age and the life experiences that have come with it, in my opinion :nice:

It's very, VERY hard to be taken seriously when you're only 13. I'm tired of being 13. That sucks.

i can understand you very well. oh yes and how i can...:\

i made the same experience and i hated it.
