Why would you need somebody else to be complete? My view of a relationship is more about sharing your whole self freely with somebody with similar views of life. And as it was said before it's more a matter of choice cause it could be a lot of people.

i honestly believe that the whole concept of a "soulmate" is a load of crap. ok, i'm really gonna offend all the guys right now when i explain why.

i know i'm still really young, but when i see the experiences my friends have gone through & just every man i've ever seen...it just really really makes me hate men. but i can't get over how hot they are! that's the only thing they're good for. except for my brother & dad, every guy i've ever met is either a cheater or a beater. & the only good guys i have seen only go for sluts who treat them like shit. i'm not allowed to date & i never have, & i never will b/c i don't want to go through all that head ache my friends go through.

 

i used to be such a believer in love, but then i saw how my cousin who is a guy, & he was awesome he's my best friend, lied to a girl & really acted like an asshole. i was shocked. i guess after that i figured even if this awesome guy that i love (love like a brother) could do this, then there really are no good ones left.

oh, i know the only good guy out there is chris martin, but seriously, we all know that's never really gonna happen, so i've completely abandoned the idea of ever falling in love

Yes, which is easy to say because I'm pretty sure I've found mine. I think, though, finding a "soul mate" is more about finding yourself. Soul mates aren't perfect fits; you have to work out the rough edges in each other. That means willing to change yourself a bit for someone else. Honestly, I point to the romanticism of the "soul mate" as why a lot of people don't believe in s.m.'s - they lack self-esteem and feel that changing themselves for a true love would only lead to self-disillusionment & still not reaching the expectations of their lover.

 

Not saying our anti-soul maters here are self-haters or anything ;), just a little late-night statement based off many, many observations.
