September 8, 200916 yr WHAT A LOAD OF BULLSHIT! The judges just felt sorry for her. Mercury Music Award - my arse as was all the other musical "talent" nominated bar Kasabian. BULL.SHIT
September 8, 200916 yr Author Well that's a silly thing to say. The Horror's new album is brilliant and I do rather like Bat For Lashes.
September 8, 200916 yr WHAT A LOAD OF BULLSHIT! The judges just felt sorry for her. Mercury Music Award - my arse as was all the other musical "talent" nominated bar Kasabian. BULL.SHIT I gave up after Dizzee Rascal got it. That was ridiculous.:dozey:
September 8, 200916 yr Well that's a silly thing to say. The Horror's new album is brilliant and I do rather like Bat For Lashes. Bat for lashes was great. Love Daniel and Travelling Woman!
September 9, 200916 yr HOW THE FUCK DID THIS BEAT KASABIAN AND FRIENDLY FIRES? :veryangry: Can people see this act becoming big next year? I mean seriously.....
September 9, 200916 yr HOW THE FUCK DID THIS BEAT KASABIAN AND FRIENDLY FIRES? :veryangry: Can people see this act becoming big next year? I mean seriously..... Well look what happened to Antony and the Johnsons (who?) after they won...........................
September 9, 200916 yr Did you really just figure that out? M People beat Blur & Pulp and Roni Size beat Radiohead The judges have their own agenda and I don't think great music has anything to do with it
September 9, 200916 yr Author Well look what happened to Antony and the Johnsons (who?) after they won........................... I can't diss them too much since Anthony was a part of Hercules & Love Affair who I love. Friendly Fires winning would be equally as absurd tbh, they have a couple of good songs, but bands like Late of the Pier and Metronomy do what they do, but about 50 times better.
September 9, 200916 yr Did you really just figure that out? M People beat Blur & Pulp and Roni Size beat Radiohead The judges have their own agenda and I don't think great music has anything to do with it No, it doesn't. It depends on whose turn it is in the "buddy buddy" club.
September 9, 200916 yr I liked Friendly Fires, I can't stop playing Skeleton Boy the last few months. but yeah, in a way, everyone knows that they always choose the strangest/most pointless/obscure thing.... :laugh3: Didn't Bat For Lashes narrowly miss out last year or the year before or something?
September 9, 200916 yr The Mercury Awards should have been axed as soon as Dizzee Rascal won for the first time.:dozey: I don't think I've ever such an awful racket.:stunned:
September 9, 200916 yr Well look what happened to Antony and the Johnsons (who?) after they won........................... What's wrong with them Mark. Great group.
September 9, 200916 yr What's wrong with them Mark. Great group. I found them rather bland, and they didn't exactly set the world alight afterwards, did they??
September 9, 200916 yr I found them rather bland, and they didn't exactly set the world alight afterwards, did they?? Selling millions of records does not make a group. Many of their songs give me absolute chills. Listen to the last 2 minutes of Hope There's Someone and tell me if it isn't intensely beautiful. Their last album was bliss as well. Sometimes I hate it when a band hits it big.
September 9, 200916 yr Anthony and the Johnsons - sounds like an American kids show. Which reminds me. I'm sure there was an American tv show where a big "big foot" sort of creature lived with this family.
September 9, 200916 yr Hang on just remembered it. It was Harry and the Hendersons! Wasn't that great though. The best American TV import BAR The Simpsons was Kenan and Kel. Holy crap, that show rocked.
