Kanye West was up to his old tricks at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York on Sunday night when he stormed the stage to protest the night's first honour.

 

The rapper interrupted Best Female Video award winner Taylor Swift as she was making her acceptance speech to proclaim Beyonce's Single Ladies was "the best video".

 

The outspoken star grabbed the microphone form a shocked Swift and declared, "Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'm gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time."

 

His protest was greeted by jeers and boos from the Radio City Music Hall crowd as a stunned Beyonce looked on from the audience and a speechless Swift held back tears as fans started chanting her name.

 

Pop star Pink reportedly had to be held back by security as she stormed towards West as he took his seat in the audience at Radio City Music Hall.

 

West has made a name for himself by protesting at awards shows - in 2004 he stormed out of the American Music Awards when country star Gretchen Wilson beat him for the Best New Artist award and told reporters he felt he was "robbed". A year later at the 2005 MTV Europe Music Awards, he stormed the stage after his Touch the Sky video lost to Justice and Simian's We Are Your Friends." He argued his promo deserved to win because "it cost a million dollars and Pamela Anderson was in it."

 

He also protested at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2007 when his performance was relegated to a side stage and he failed to win a single award, despite being nominated for five. After the snub he declared he would never perform or appear on MTV again.

kanye knows that his time is up in the hip hop industry (nobody survives more than 4years) so now he is just trying to get attention by being a moron.

Anyways... granted, her video wasn't that great, it's funny and cute... but Beyoncé's video really wasn't that much better... (i do like dancing to it, though :dance: )

I would strap them to a rocket and send them to the outer regions of space never to be heard or seen again. THEN the music charts could make some sort of a recovery. Then it would be to get rid of those monsters and beasts who are Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, that old man Madonna and any other embarrassing sluts who only appeal to 8 year old girls.
