Gosh, it's tough....

Well let me think.....:

-Viva of course, the singalong live is juste magical!

-LIJ: butterflies <3

-Strawberry swing: always loved it

-Chinese sleep chant: so underated song!!! Great live

-Rainy day: just in love with the bass line on that

Can I buy a vowel? This is hard. I'll come back to this.

Edit: Top 5

5. Lost!: Instant for me. The hip-hop beats, the way the song grows and its message. Fantastic. The acoustic version scores points as well.

4. Strawberry Swing: Makes me think about a beautiful summer's day, rolling around on the grass. Great video and they pull it off live.

3. Prospekt's March/Poppyfields: love the mysterious, weary vocals and how it grows into the climatic ending.

2. Lovers in Japan (Osaka Sun Mix): chose this as I think Reign of Love is a weak point and this mix adds something different. The song is beautiful too- make sme sort of nostalgic for a place I've never been too and a time I've never had. Double points for the video.

1. Viva La Vida: a career turning point. By far, one of the best songs from them. Looking back on 2008, this song defines that year and is definately one of the best songs this decade. Everything from the narrative, the violins and the church bell sounds majestic. Shame the vid lets it down.

Honors list

Lhuna: Yes, I'm biased, but it was so lovely to hear this duet. Sort of like 'Where the Wild Roses Grow' but less macabre. Love both Chris and Kylie's vocals.

Life in Technicolor ii: Massive singalong! And the video wins points for creative genius.

Glass of Water: Rock hard, rock long.

Lovers in Japan Acoustic: I get a bit teary eyed for some reason. Love this interpretation.

1. Strawberry swing

I remember when I've arrived home from London, I was very devastated, I always listened to this song. "Every moment was so precious..."

2. Lovers in Japan

This song captures all of my great summer moments, it has so much feeling, and the butterflies...

3. The escapist

Truly beautiful. I love, LOVE it so much.

4. Life in technicolor ii

LiT is wonderful, but LiT ii is just amazing!! I always loved this song, from the very beginning.

5. Lost?

I heard it on my best friend's cellphone, I didn't hear it before. I fell in love with it, so beautiful, so meaningful.

4. Viva la Vida

When you take away all the mainstream appeal and plagiarism allegations and whatnot, this really is a beautiful song. It's an uplifting and harmonious anthem that draws from every theme of the era, from revolutions to paintings to death. When this song plays, you know you want to sing along every time.

Couldn't express this better...you're absolutely right with it. Nevertheless Viva is not in my Top 5 but I can underwrite that it's the song of the Viva era....when I think of this era I immediately think of this song!

This is my personal list:

1. Death and all his friends - what an anthem for Coldplan and their fans...it's my favourite track from the album, there is a certain positive spirit to it - always get goosebumps at the end.....:D

2. Life in technicolor - just brings on the perfect introduction into the Viva era - when they started with it at the concert it - I was just a few seconds away from seeing them in real for the first time in my life ....this song will always remind me of that moment. By the way I don't really like Life in technicolor 2 that much - I think it's much more descriptive without vocals.

3. 42 - I just love the structure of this track - the sad beginning, the increasing tension and the surprising climax and at the end everything it comes to the full circle.

4. Lost! - when I first listened to the album I liked it immediately - and I still like it because of its energy and the message! Lost? is also great.

5. Death will never conquer - I had to switch it with Postcards, I think I like it a little bit more than it....

Very hard to leave out Lovers in japan (acoustic), Violet hill, Postcards... and the Goldrush...:-(
