The Verve

Featured Replies

Well The Verve were always a singles band in my book

No way! Their album tracks are much better than the singles, stuff like Velvet Morning, Catching The Butterfly, Weeping Willow and Come On on Urban Hymns. The whole of A Northern Soul and A Storm In Heaven are genius.

absolutely!!!

For a singles band they've had about 3 big ones. Bittersweet Symphony, Lucky man and Drugs don't work. The other songs, are kinda only known to fans or people with good memories.

So yeah, they're an album band imo.

And Forth better not suck, the graphic is completely epic.

^ trust me it does not suck :laugh3:

and does any other verve fan think that "this could be my moment" is by far their most pop/ commercial song?

just got it a few days ago :D

Its definitely one of their worst songs, if not the worst.

BTW, did the verve just copy Portishead's naming method?

This could be my moment is a weird one. Its pretty spontanious and likable but I never really listen to it.

The best Verve B side has to be 'where the geese go' or 'country song' or '3 steps'

I really like This Could Be My Moment, it doesn't really sound like a typical Verve song, but it shows good variety in their sound, I really like it. They have a lot of great b-sides though

Fixed. :D

Seriously, Dejan, please fuck off. You're constantly trying to cause trouble, and it's getting you nothing but a bad rep.

I've actually deleted the album off my iPod now, save for Love Is Noise obviously. Too preoccupied with Fleet Foxes at the moment. :D

fuck you and your whole family.

E SUCCHIAMI IL CAZZO FIGLIO DI TROIA

the whole album is in streaming on their myspace.

i must admit that i was wrong,I FUCKIN LOVE THIS RECORD.

i've just ordered the cd/dvd special edition

^ ahh so u admit defeat? ...by the almighty verve! :P

ya,without a fuckin problem.

I thought the new album was already out so I went out to get it and the guy at the record store almost burst out laughing when I asked for it

How cruel of him to laugh like that.

They're streaming it on their MySpace page for a week if you can't wait to get your hands on it:

http://www.myspace.com/theverve

i'm halfway trough the new album on myspace now and my first impression is that it's good but not great.

Today I read a music magazine (Musikexpress) and they said it's one of the most disappointing records of 2008. :( I still love "Love Is Noise" though. :D

Besides I wouldn't have listened to it straight away :P

:laugh3: im just copyin the DVD to my comp so i can put it on youtube if your just getting the CD? :D
