July 3, 200817 yr Coldplay92: What do you think of the bass at the start of Come On from Urban Hymns? Does it rock your socks as much as it rocks mine?
July 3, 200817 yr Coldplay92: What do you think of the bass at the start of Come On from Urban Hymns? Does it rock your socks as much as it rocks mine? Fuck yes, thats gotta be the best album closer ever.
July 4, 200817 yr I'm sure I heard Si Jones playing that bass line at the very end of Love Is Noise at Glastonbury - he's such a tease.
July 4, 200817 yr Coldplay92: What do you think of the bass at the start of Come On from Urban Hymns? Does it rock your socks as much as it rocks mine? i am now sockless after listening to that bassline.........that answer ur question? :P by the way they've just got 3 proper albums aint they? not including the singles one and that
July 4, 200817 yr i am now sockless after listening to that bassline.........that answer ur question? :P by the way they've just got 3 proper albums aint they? not including the singles one and that Yes Urban Hymns is the breakthrough one with all the biggest hits Drugs don't work, bitter sweet symphony (a fantastic if daunting listen at 70 minutes). Then theres A Northern Soul, it has some great songs but I find it quite forgettable except for the singles. Basically a lot of psychodelic go nowhere epics with nothing that stands out. Their first album A Storm in Heaven is also brilliant, from when nobody knew them pretty much. Its a great psychodelic shoegazer record but nothing like Urban Hymn's. And Fouth which will of course be better than VLV when it finally arrives to rock our world :)

July 6, 200817 yr i am now sockless after listening to that bassline.........that answer ur question? :P by the way they've just got 3 proper albums aint they? not including the singles one and that That's a heck of a fine answer :D They released their first EP in 1992, "Verve EP", and a B-Sides album in 1994 called No Come Down. I think I have them somewhere so I'll upload them.
July 7, 200817 yr That's a heck of a fine answer :D They released their first EP in 1992, "Verve EP", and a B-Sides album in 1994 called No Come Down. I think I have them somewhere so I'll upload them. kool thanks :D ...that would then complete my verve collection :D oh and btw their is a video exclusive of the new verve track "love is noise"........it's on next weekend on channel four late-ish............i cant remember the exact time...sorry lol.....i just saw it while setting all my "T in the park" recordings :D
July 7, 200817 yr Fav verve songs is a toughy. Velvet Morning / Come on / Space and time / Drugs dont work / The rolling people / Bittersweet symphany / where the geese go (B side look it up) I love all the verve but really Urban Hymn's owns anything else they've done pretty bad.
July 9, 200817 yr http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=38035520 the verve video exclusive!!!!!!! :D
July 9, 200817 yr Wow, amazing video, thanks for the link! Visually stunning, and the actual song is growing on me more and more! Album artwork: I love it - hopefully the album will be as epic and beautiful as the artwork.
July 9, 200817 yr I once saw a site like this looking out the window on a plane. I thought wow thats just beautiful why don't they take pictures of it more often than they do. The fact its used for this album means they really believe in the project. Lets hope it fits the bill.
July 12, 200817 yr Which one did you pre-order? I just found this special edition one on Play.com: http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/5986258/Forth/Product.html
July 13, 200817 yr I just got home and saw Simon Tong live tonight. He sounds as great as ever. Him and Damon Albarn fit together so nicely. Cant wait to hear Verve's new stuff. Honest Jon's Revue is worth seeing if anyone gets the chance. Not sure if it was a special show for NYC - but Damon has been getting along quite nicely doing so many great things.
July 13, 200817 yr Yeah Damon Albarn is a great musician, I just wish he would get back with Blur because Blur are better than any other of his successes such as the Gorrilaz.
July 13, 200817 yr xneverwherex: Was that The Good, The Bad and The Queen that Damon and Si Tong were doing?
