Well it says I've got 16 notifications. But I don't have!

It says "unread profile visitor messages" but i've read them all

Try selecting them all on all the various pages and hit read.

I don't get it *feels like an idiot*

It might be some dating back to June time showing up as unread for some reason.

So i'll have to go through all my messages in my profile..?
