future of coldplay

Featured Replies

i dont know about you guys but im worried about coldplays future... i mean this "no more soft rock" business..NOT that theres anything wrong with that, im just afraid if they try to completely reinvent their sound they might suck  :( i like them the way they are...

well we'll see what they come out with.

they probably will have some of the old coldplay in them.

or maybe it's one of chris' jokes that drives us crazy.

I hope so. I don't like when bands try and completely re-invent themselves. Coldplay have a HUGE fanbase, so hopefully they know that we like them just the way they are! :)

well i mean if u hear songs like the world turn upside down which is half and half it works really well and i think Coldplay are ready 2 expand their musical talents

i think it is like most things - they start out with radical ideas but they get thinned out with compromise

:D

I like the sound of all the new stuff I've heard. Their next album's gonna be great  :D

i'm pretty ecstatic to hear that they're "re-inventing" themselves...cause really who wants to listen to the same kinda stuff 5 cds from now...that would just get dull and boring...not saying that i'm bored of their sound right now...far from it...but its refreshing to know that they're willing to take a risk in venturing off to what they're normally use to...that tells me that they are in it for the music...making music how they want to rather then just pleasing the masses...i mean look at parachutes and AROBTTH...distinctively different but still had slow melodies from parachutes...and both equally amazing...so i'm not worried at all that they're experimenting with new sounds...cause i know whatever they come out with, will still be uniquely coldplay :D

Hmmm...that's a pretty good argument. :) I think whatever they do will be good.

its weird, but Parachutes still sounds just as good as the first time I heard it. It just timeless  that was nothing to do with anything

If they're more comfortable with a 'new sound' it will be good, and I'm sure we'll have more brilliant stuff... :D

has anyone ever thought that if they did continue with the same sort of sound and didn't venture out or try something new that whatever they come up with wouldn't be as good as parachutes? cause parachutes is an awesome album...no matter how much i listen to it...it still moves me...its kind of like nothing is ever as good as the first time you did it...well for most cases...but you know what i mean...and just doing another album like parachutes would, i don't know, just don't think it would be as good as parachutes...but who knows?

I suppose any talented artist don't wanna repeat an album just because it was good. I think they'll use their talent to grow up...

If an artist repeated an album with a similar sound it would not be as good as the original (it's the same reason why Radiohead change their sound)

BTW I like Coldplay's new sound. :D

I think the most important thing is to be true to themselves, not allow themselves to become contrived in any way. If they go on writing stuff from the heart they will be OK - and that's because they are genuine guys with intelligence and spirit. Their natural talent will move with the times, like the Beatles did. THEY never went out of fashion. Coldplay ARE the new Beatles. Their finest hour is yet to come ......

god that would be insane :D you got me very excited now!

or maybe it's one of chris' jokes that drives us crazy.

haha that would be funny..sometimes i wonder about his jokes lol i love him tho :D

i really hope they do continue to progress BEING TRUE TO THEMSELVES AND THEMSELVES ONLY i LOVE how radiohead have progressed over the years..thats the kinda progression i hope they do,coldplay style :D

that would be wonderful

i do not believe that they have the diversity of the beatles tho

they may prove me wrong tho :D

AMEN with Victoria... :D

I think it is very important, that Coldplay will sound different on the new Album. A lille Bit less weeping ;) and maybe a little more harder... the main problem is that the band perfected their sound on "parachutes" and "rush of blood" as good as it can go. this coldplay sound from 1998 till 2003 is almost perfect... therer can't be a new album which sounds so good... I think a change would be the easiest decission for the band :)

We will see. I am also excited now, Coldplay's finest hour is just around the corner. :D
