I joined the group :D Good work folks ;)

Ukrainian music channels have trumpeted today (only today!): «Сoldplay soon will remain without instruments. On the official site british alternativers declared auction...»

Oh, how they stupid!

@2greeneyes. I love your siggy!!! :wacky: is so chris!!

I stayed a lot of time watching. :uhoh:

:laugh3:

Ofcourse there are real coldplay fans that aren't on this website, but at least we know the people on here are real fans. For people that aren't on the website we can't really do much and there will also be non Coldplay fans wanting to buy that stuff. So this way we know for sure it will go to Coldplay fans ^^

We're not more real or anything like that than fans that are no member of this website

So basically you are going to all lump together as a big entity with lots of money, attempt to by a lot of the items, therefore becoming those "really rich people who buy everything" you were complaining about. Therefore cheating other people that AREN'T on Coldplaying that could ACTUALLY really earnestly want the items.

A bit hypocritical isn't it? This is one reason why I'm not participating. As much as you all want yourselves to feel good that you're bandying up together to get these things, and as much as it is for charity, this premise still goes uncared for because 'at least we know the people on here are "REAL" fans'.

What happens if some newbie signs up and pitches in a tiny bit, wins something using the proposed equal ticketing system, wins the item, receives it, then disappears from the board? You're all fucked in the ass then. Try to think for once instead of being all "COMMUNITY LET'S WORK TOGETHER HURP DURP", and use your proper accounts.

This is all, of course, if you are all actually going to do something and get the money together.

wow. got everything off your chest? hope you feel better after that cuz you know stress is bad right?

First of all, we're probably trying to bid on 3 items at the most (if even that, considering the prices will probably be ridiculously high). And I think that everybody who'll participate will really EARNESTLY want the item we win (if we win anything).

So what if someone new wins? I'm sure they would like the item as much as any other of us.

I'm planning on bidding on my own as well, but I think that this is a great idea for us to actually contribute to the charity and at the same time have the chance at one of the more expensive items.

I think that you need to get of your high horse and stop being so damn condescending all the time. You're no better than the rest of us, sorry to burst your bubble.

I joined the group as well! Can't wait to see the result :D

:uhoh:

Apparently Paypal has fees for international transactions. I don't really have the money to pay transaction fees for everybody :P so I don't know how we can solve that?

Maybe another way than Paypal? Any suggestions?

I thought about this as well. How much is the fee for an international transaction?!

You could give back the total amount (that any one of us will donate to the group) - the fee.

I don't think it will be more than 1£ ... So if we won't win anything we're going to loose one pound... Anyway ... we'll try to win! Any other idea is accepted, but I thing that paypal is a very good "tool" for this kind of things!

Sure that would be great :nice:

I thinking about changing the title also to something more describing...

that's done :)

I don't think anyone here was suggesting that we use the project to rival the top bidders (i.e the investors who'll spend $20,000+ on guitars and such) and create some whopping great monopoly, in the process robbing lone bidders of the chance to win anything. From what's been proposed, the project seems like a nice way to ensure that - to some degree - regular Coldplay fans are represented in the auction.

Yes, it's true that there are deserving Coldplay fans who aren't members of the site. Yes, it's true that even if the site does win something, it may not go to the most hardcore Coldplaying devotee. It's exactly the same story with ticketing. Things are never going to be divided up equally and handed out to the most deserving. It's unjust. Plain and simple. Life isn't fair.

You can sit here arguing with an absolutely defeatist attitude and complain about how immoral the whole thing is, or you could embrace a project developed in good faith (perhaps unlike the "really rich people who buy everything") and try and help see that some (rather than NONE) of the items find their way to appreciative fans.

I agree...

Even if no one in this thread seems to agree with my idea ... I can't help to repete that for me, the most fair solution, is to give the item for charity again!! If you don't want it's ok, I can understand, but never forget that it's a charity auction! ;)

For all of you interested in joining in this project, please join the group in my siggy!

@2greeneyes. I love your siggy!!! :wacky: is so chris!!

  Thanks, haha, I know Chris is amazing :wacky: I love the video from which this siggy is :freak: He's so cute :nice:

Anyway, I'd like to point out that we are all rather poor people whom are really big fans of Coldplay and trying to be able to make sure some of it will go to people of whom we know that it are fans. We won't buy everything, because we can't and I honestly think people here know we are just trying to do something nice for charity, ourselves and others on Coldplaying. Our intentions are good. So please don't tell us we're shit. You're not perfect either.

Are you really sure about it then? It seems more logic o have a trusted person with big influence here.

I just think people will have kind of a problem with giving money to a pretty random user...

Just saying
