I can't say wether that scene of the island underwater is foreshadowing or just the result of the detonation of the hydrogen bomb from season 5

OH JEEZ, SMOKEY CAN WIN. :facepalm: I never even considered that possibility. But I think the sunk island in the premiere was just the result of the hydrogen bomb (or something else exploding), no foreshadowing.

 

By the way, one of the alt endings must show Smokey prevail.

I saw the end live in Canada, and I found it was very representative of the whole show, a little cliché, but definitely awesome. And very beautiful. Hope you're gonna enjoy it :)

Wow. That was quite good, and a whole lot inevitable.

 

...So why do I feel like my cat died, now?

Initially after viewing the episode I sort of had mixed feelings. I mean it worked and made sense why the ended it the way they did, but at the same time I was hoping there'd be more about the meaning of the island. After reflecting about the episode I've realized that this show was so much more about the island and about the character interactions. Also dealing with redeeming themselves, but also how the characters themselves were "lost" and it took meeting each other, and being on the island and to find themselves and be happy together with eachother, which we see at the end of the episode.

 

I must admit that it was an extremely emotional episode, not just at the end but also with them "remembering" like with charlie/claire, sawyer/juliet.

 

Overall a really great episode! Of course there are so many answers still left to be answered, but the beauty of the show is that it still gives us a chance to speculate and keep us interested, yet at the same time have the show be way beyond the storylines/mystery and the character interaction.
