Ultimate-Guitar titles Coldplay's LP5 as "The Beehive"

Featured Replies

Ultimate-Guitar.com posted an article today claiming the title of Coldplay's fifth album is "The Beehive". Wether or not this is a mistake, or just early judgment is uncertain. Here's the full quote:

'The Beehive' is a follow-up to 2008's 'Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends' and is set to be released by the end of the year.

The full article can be read here

pretty sure they just saw it on the site and adopted it as the title

I think they just got confused, or consulted a wrong source...I hope they won't call this album the beehive :P:P

certainly, the album title will not be the beehive.

Well if you remember, before the release of LP4 Coldplay said it was gonna have some wacky long name like Viva la Vida or Death and all His Friends or something stupid and absurd like that. Good thing that was a faulty source too!

hehe o wait..

Okay;)

But by the time, Coldplay have not said anything about the name of the new LP... I say they just got confused with the name of the new studio.

^ this

I mean, they didn't call LP4 "The Bakery". I doubt they'll name LP5 after their new studio.

^agreeeeeed

i just hope they don't:inquisitive:

It wouldnt be completely out of the question. I just fail to see how this ties in with the Space/Astronomy theme though.

Hm, I don't think they would.... But, you never know, they've surprised us in the past.

Maybe, maybe not. One thing is certain from past album titles -- they are never arbitrary. They are always very well thought out. So if it is called The Beehive, there will be a good reason. Can anyone remember from past interviews -- which comes first, the album title or the chosen songs? I know they mentioned that they knew VLV would be VLV pretty early on, but did they already have songs written at that time?

 I'm gonna have to be fending off the unknowing Coldplay fans who will be trying to post this to their Wikipedia page.

oh my god, those reactions at that article!:shocked2:

well could be the upcoming album title... (or simply how they are refering to it now as they are recording it there, aren't they?)

coldplay tend to alternate a short / long album title.

(parachutes / arobtth / x&y / vlvodaahf) so why not?

they can also change their mind, i remember had seen oldie sites -back betweeen parachutes and arobtth era- which have the song titles for the upcoming arobtth, and on the final version of the album titles had changed so....

we'll know more pretty soon i guess, just check their upcoming vids, remeber the viva la vida was revelead on their 'a short video' one. :)

well, the first time we got a clue about the album title was somewhere around late 2007/early 2008, with that short video they did. And that was more than three months before they finally announced the album title and half a year before they released it. Truth be told, they've more or less finished the album, or at least Roadie #42 speaks of it as 'finished work'. I don't know if we can see a certain pattern but when something new will come on the website or perhaps timeline, we will know. But it's certainly this year, and I'll say in october we'll be hearing some new stuff! :)

These people are clearly goddamn morons and should not be listened to.

That's just wrong...

and funny at the same time. :P

Well, the past 4 albums they have named after a song that is on the album, do ya really think if they keep the same pattern, they would have a song on the album named "BeeHive"? I don't. ( I'm not counting the free one they gave away) that title "LRLRL" wasn't apart of the free one.

No, but that would be confising
