as for Bush, a lot of non-Christians voted for him, The church only compiled to about 28% of the vote. Most churchies are supersticious, and a lot of them voted for Kerry because they thought it was God's will with all the media hoopla going around. It was the hispanic vote that helped him out mostly, and the college vote was split down the middle, with the same numbers as last year. Seriously, there are so many half-truths in the major parties, that I could see rationality in voting for either candidate, because all they heard was supposedly "the truth" from whichever side they were listening to. Democrats blame the "closed-minded" church just to make themselves look better, when in all-in-all, I think Bush won because of talk radio and military. I also think Michael Moore cost Kerry the election, because if F-911 were true, Bush would have been impeached.

And then, of course, there were the "security moms"!!

Definition:

"Stay at home moms who fear an imminent terrorist attack and therefore voted Republican as they felt it would make them safer".

oh no no no, After F-9/11 and the Bin Laden tape where he says "dont vote for bush or we'll attack you again" a lot of stay at home moms probably voted for Kerry, since Bin Laden has already attacked us once under Bush's control. I think kerry made a lot of people feel safe because his deal was that there wasnt a threat.

since the media is liberal, bush's caricature was basically a war-monger and Kerry being a hip-cool guy who likes Wyclef. I dont think that would make many people particularly feel safe. I think the reason why mom's would vote for Bush, is because Kerry wanted to make it legal for underage girls to get abortions without parental conscent. And he wanted schools to pass out morning after pills in schools, where girls could take them without parental knowledge. thats probably the ticket.

I'm lying in my bed, the blanket is warm

This body will never be safe from harm

Don't wanna weep for you, don't wanna know

I'm blind and tortured, the white horses flow

The memories fire, the rhythms fall slow

Black beauty I love you so

There's the moon asking to stay

Long enough for the clouds to fly me away

Well it's my time coming, i'm not afraid to die

This is our last goodbye

I hate to feel the love between us die

But it's over

Just hear this and then i'll go

You gave me more to live for

More than you'll ever know

This is our last embrace

Must I dream and always see your face

Why can't we overcome this wall

Well, maybe it's just because i didn't know you at all

Kiss me, please kiss me

But kiss me out of desire, babe, and not consolation

You know it makes me so angry 'cause i know that in time

I'll only make you cry, this is our last goodbye

Did you say 'no, this can't happen to me,'

And did you rush to the phone to call

Was there a voice unkind in the back of your mind

Saying maybe you didn't know him at all

You didn't know him at all, oh, you didn't know

Well, the bells out in the church tower chime

Burning clues into this heart of mine

Thinking so hard on her soft eyes and the memories

Offer signs that it's over... it's over

Love, let me sleep tonight on you couch

And remember the smell of the fabric

Of your simple city dress

Oh... that was so real

We walked around til the moon got full like a plate

The wind blew an invocation and i fell asleep at the gate

And I never stepped on the cracks 'cause i thought i'd hurt my mother

And I couldn't awake from the nightmare that sucked me in and pulled me under

Pulled me under

Oh... that was so real

I love you, but i'm afraid to love you

I love you, but i'm afraid to love you

Looking out the door i see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners

Parading in a wake of sad relations as their shoes fill up with water

And maybe i'm too young to keep good love from going wrong

But tonight you're on my mind so you never know

When i'm broken down and hungry for your love with no way to feed it

Where are you tonight, child you know how much i need it

Too young to hold on and too old to just break free and run

Sometimes a man gets carried away, when he feels like he should be having his fun

And much too blind to see the damage he's done

Sometimes a man must awake to find that really, he has no-one

So i'll wait for you... and i'll burn

Will I ever see your sweet return

About Led Zeppelin --- http://www.jimmypageonline.com/11473.html

Jimmy Page: "I tapped into the same energy in the 1950s when I heard people such as Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis. And I hear it Now in the White Stripes."

He has even revised his initial verdict on Rap "They steal your riffs and they shout at you" since collaborating with Puff Daddy on his Hip-Hop adaption of the Led Zeppelin song Kashmir.

+++++

Oh will I ever learn

Oh lover, you should've come over

'Cause it's not too late

Lonely is the room, the bed is made, the open window lets the rain in

Burning in the corner is the only one who dreams he had you with him

My body turns and yearns for a sleep that will never come

It's never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder

It's never over, all my riches for her smiles when i slept so soft against her

It's never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter

It's never over, she's the tear that hangs inside my soul forever

Well maybe i'm just too young

To keep good love from going wrong

Oh... lover, you should've come over

'Cause it's not too late

Well I feel too young to hold on

And i'm much too old to break free and run

Too deaf, dumb, and blind to see the damage i've done

Sweet lover, you should've come over

Oh, love well i'm waiting for you

Lover, you should've come over

'Cause it's not too late

How many times have you heard someone say

If I had money, I will do things my way

But little they know, that it's so hard to find

One rich man in ten with a satisfied mind

Money can't buy back all your youth when you're old

A friend when you're lonely, oh peace to your soul

The wealthiest person is a pauper at times

Compared to the man with a satisfied mind

My life is over and my time has run out

My friends and my loved ones

I will leave them no doubt

But one things for certain

When it comes my time

I'll leave this old world, oh yeah oh yeah, with a satisfied mind

One things for certain, when it comes my time, oh yeah,

I'll leave this old world, oh with a satisfied mind

Mind mind mind mind, satisfied mind

for an end

Jeff Buckley.

Wow.

I thought Jeff deserved a Brand New Thread.

I'm just listening to the Grace album for the first time - what can I say?

It's becoming one of my favourite albums of all time.

Lilac Wine is giving me goosebumps... :o

Awww I love that song!!!

Lover you should've come over is my favourite song on grace

If there is already a thread on him, you should just post in that one.. so that there isnt so much overlap. ;)

I searched through loads but didn't find any specific threads - maybe I missed one.

This one won't do any harm anyway :P

You can never have too many threads about Jeff Buckley

He was absolutely amazing. He has the most amazing voice I've ever heard, and his songs were phenomenal. It's a shame he doesn't get the recognition he so clearly deserves.
