Unfortunately as hes DEAD, there isnt an outstanding amount of Jeff Buckley recordings around. 2 albums and live covers just.

yeah we do, yeah we do (Coldplay)

ok. now that i heard that song 2 times, here is my grade: 7 :)

more than 7?

no... its easy to do a good song with leonard cohen lyric. :P

hey guys, if it wasn't for u, i wouldn't have download alot of songs for jeff (PIP), i am amazed how i didn't hear of his songs before, i really like the lyrics for last goodbye and the melody for halliluja and everybody wants you...etc :) he is truly a great singer, i am ashamed that i didn't know him before :/

how did he die though?

He drowned in the Mississippi River.... so tragic. You have to get the dvd, live from Chicago... mega!! He looks so young and vibrant. he had his whole life ahead of him.... I think he was only 30 or so when he died.

I thought it was the 27 year old rule?

I just did foolio!

He was 30.

His infamous dad was 28 when he died of an overdose. Speaking of Jeffs dad, another famous solo musician, Tim Buckley (Who was actually more popular then Jeff- at least while Jeff was alive) was someone who Jeff resented and and hated. I dont know the whole story, but Jeff saw him as someone who abandoned him, I've even heard him mocking his own dad on a radio interview.

But Jeff still decided to call his solo name after his dad's. Jeff Buckley is of course not his actual name, same goes for Tim Buckley, why did Jeff decide to take his name like that? Its strange.

i don't think that he really _hated_ his dad.. it was something like love/hate..

he hated that his father never cared about him, when he really needed it.. but his father was so young when jeff was born, i think he was just not ready to be a father..

maybe Jeff understood that finally, and tried to forgive him.. which was not easy

and Jeff's first success was when he played in a tribute concert for his father..

Jeff and his current band line-up went to Memphis, Tennessee, in February 1997 to begin rehearsing..

Jeff, already there, and the band would be there to begin rehearals on May 29th. Their flight was barely ariborne when Jeff and a friend set out to grab a bite to eat. They drove around, ending up at the Wolf River Marina to watch the sunset. The bands plane was in mid-flight when Jeff stepped into the deceptively placid water to cool off with a swim. By the time the plane landed, the coast guard and Memphis police had begun a futile search-and-rescue mission.

...

I got this from VH1.... :stunned:

. On the night of May 29, he and a friend traveled to the local Mud Island Harbor, where Buckley spontaneously decided to go swimming in the Mississippi River and waded into the water fully clothed. A few minutes later, he disappeared under the waves; authorities were quickly contacted, but to no avail -- on June 4, his body was finally found floating near the city's famed Beale Street area. Buckley was 30 years old. A collection of unreleased recordings, Sketches (For My Sweetheart the Drunk), appeared in 1998, and a live album, Mystery White Boy, arrived two years later. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

Um, yeah, i would say so.
