Guest howyousawtheworld
What a terrible day for football fans the world over. Russia and Qatar - the two most money spinning bids over the pure football bids of the other lot. An embarassing day for FIFA culminating in an embarassing few weeks for them. Corrupt, sleazy, slimy.... a true disgrace. I've seen tyrannical African countries govern better than these shower of morons. And as for that Sepp Blatter - the sooner he goes the better. He is a cancer to football.

He is a cancer to football. Completely agreed on all points. I would have had no problem losing to Australia, because they'd do a great job hosting a World Cup...but a typical Arab totalitarian (anti-jewish, anti-gay, anti-alcohol, etc) state with less then 4 suitable stadiums already built? Such a disgrace. Fifa is all about money now.
bart
I am really dissapointed, I have always wanted the Aussies to get the world cup I am very upset England did not get their bid neither, really gutted. I blame the media mainly Morduchs bunch, they have caused te country to be ruined.
zempt
Qatar i don't know just seems weird, their promising a lot though. How are the players gonna train in the summer in the desert though that's a tough one.
Tnspieler1012
This blows. I don't mind Russia at all, but if not the U.S., I really wanted Australia to get 2022. Hell, Korea/Japan again would've still been better than Qatar.

Hell, Korea/Japan again would've still been better than Qatar. Don't be too sure, Qatar did a very good job for Asian Games 2006, I hope they could do the same for WC. But still, I would prefer US or Australia to get 2022. :\

Josh42
and how are the fans going to have a beer without being slammed up for 10 years?! Designated drinking areas within the stadiums! Oh joy!! You know the fans will have to pay a fortune for those beers.

How are the players gonna train in the summer in the desert though that's a tough one. They plan to install air conditioners in all the stadiums and training centers. ----- I'm sure this decision doesn't have anything to do with the Qatar sheikhs and the Russian oligarchs... NOT!

Tonsu
As if we didn't know it already, FIFA are an absolute joke. Russia and Qatar? There's got to be a huge amount of dirty money behind those winning bids...I can't wait to see the British press dig something up. I don't fancy either as a WC destination, Russia I'd like to visit again but the actual event's going to be an absolute disaster. Looks like Brazil 2014 will be the last World Cup I'll be attending until at least 2026 :o
The Final Track
Yeah, I'm gonna try extra hard to make it in 4 years :( Them awarding the World Cup to Qatar is more a political move, methinks.

Black Rose
What Russia said - if we don't get the 2018 cup we shall turn off the gas to Western Europe :P At least the Russian Mafia will be happy. Didn't England play Brazil in a friendly in Qatar last year where the atmosphere was pretty dead?
