I don't know about others but I found this news vacuum about LP5 release highly frustrating. And moreover I can't see any reason why they should hide it. I can't plan my trip to gigs because I don't know where and when it would be. So if I would plan trip at Autumn today I will miss tour.

I think that the single will be released at the end of May and the album at the end of August. Just a feeling I have. I hope that the feeling is proven right. :dance:

Considering the live dates, LP5 will be released after August 5 and before October 1. Wait and see.

Side-note: A poster on here said theorized that Coldpay will pull a "Christmas Lights"-like announcement regarding LP5 and its singles/EP's. Coldplay seems to be going an alternative route for the upcoming record, and I can totally see the announcement on Coldplay.com that basically says, "Good morning. We are happy to announce our first single off of _______ will be available next Tuesday, _______ via iTunes."

I would also say August or September is a fairly logical time for releasing the album, especially if Jonny has said a single's coming out soon, I can only assume that means before the festivals which in theory means only 3 weeks until a NEW coldplay song :sneaky: :) And btw, someone's mentioned the tour dates in SA are first real tour dates - I wouldn't go that far yet, especially because it's still a festival-size ground they'll be playing at. A real tour date would probably be a 20,000 capacity hall. IMO.

If we all agree that we think a single's coming out at the end of this month or the beginning of next, when do you guys think they'll announce the name of the album and the tracklisting? You think they'd do that first, right? :thinking:

^ I'd say so. They'll have to announce the album title when they drop the first single (sooner rather than later, hopefully). I could see them releasing the tracklisting also, but they might draw that one out a bit longer.

This is how I remember it, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. They announced the title of the album first. They waited a little while, then announced the tracklisting, and then they waited a little more and released the Violet Hill single. I don't know if they'll follow that formula again, though. They might just kind of magically spring it on us like Christmas Lights, like one of the people above mentioned.

I would be soo freakin happy if a single was released in June. I could die, but then I wouldn't see the rest of the album... :lol:

I rely on the Roadie #42 blogs now. I keep hoping that I'll notice something in the pictures and be like "AHA!!!!! I KNOW WHAT IT IS!!!!" and then keep thinking of the ENDLESS possibilities.

I really believe what Jonny sayd ,

So single soon , before June or during te 1st days of June .

They promote it on festivals and maybe we get the album title the same day of the single release.

I'm actually excited, cause even if we don't end up getting a new single, in less than a month, the guys will be out there performing again! :awesome: However, the idea of hearing something new is awesome! I hope it's true! I also agree with the "short notice" thing!

We will know that we are close when we get one of those "first listen" articles that Rolling Stone, NME or Q always does. You know, the ones where some reporter gets to go into the studio and hear a few songs then we all spend about 100 pages analyzing the descriptions they give!
