Dear Coldplay fans:

Featured Replies

I have a serious question, something that has been bugging me for 5 minutes.

Why can't you accept some people just don't like Coldplay?

I'm expecting serious answers, I'm being fully honest.

Vote in the poll please.

Thanks.

I accept it. As my father used to say "we can't share the same tastes and colors".

Why can't you accept some people just don't like Coldplay?

The question should be, what are these people doing hanging around a Coldplay fan forum?:dozey:

Music is subjective and while we can debate on music it's still all about preference. Non Coldplay fans have a right to be here as well as Coldplay fans because it's a very big music forum but I must say it's a bit rich this thread coming from someone who makes fun of people who post Coldplay related stuff on the WoM forum but hey ho.

You can't answer like this just one time in your life, right? v

I said I am being honest. I'm curious. At least I'm not implying Radiohead shits on CP's balls with a thread.

Are you suggesting "pot and kettle"?

I don't mind threads like that, as they're clearly just in jest.

Because when they signed up they were fans, but that faded. They stayed here because this is overall an excellent forum, particularly the World of Music section. I'd wager that there are very few forums out there like this. In my opinion, it is a tremendous compliment to this forum if people remain here even after they've lost their love for Coldplay.

I think this post from The Lounge summarizes it pretty well:

i love you all

seriously

you are great

this forum is great

hmmm

That's fair enough, but they should at least display a bit of tact and common sense by keeping their "anti" Coldplay thoughts to themselves. Coming out with comments like that is only going to get people's backs up.

The majority of people are still here because of Coldplay, and this shouldn't be forgotten.

Thats just my question!!!

Well it is a pretty obvious one, after all.:dozey:

And I said I understand it? But there's a difference between loving them and having a sick obsession with them that makes them not accept things like "people don't like them".

Nobody cares if you like them or not. That isn't the issue.

And your post is irrelevant to what I said.

I also don't give a shit if you like this.

^ We here have accepted the fact that there are non Coldplay fans here, but what we can't understand is why the nonfans keep deciding to bother us fans with their nonsense.

I leave you to your debate.

I don't give a monkey's about that, either.

That's it in a nutshell. However, a logical explanation has never been forthcoming.

If you don't give a crap about me so much why do you even reply to my posts?

You just like to increase the hostility to only run away to Ian afterwards like a poor victim.

Pathetic.

I think that nobody here is stupid enough to honestly think that Coldplay is the best thing in the world and that everybody who's not liking them should burn in hell.

It's just that... I think it's great that people who don't enjoy Coldplay anymore still come here to talk with friends and debate (whether it's about the band or not); and it's great too that people who don't like Coldplay at all come here to discuss and debate (not to hate or insult of course), it's a great example of open-mindedness. But I have to admit that I had a kind of a hard time understanding it, it was really weird to me! I've been on a few (smaller) forums before - I had never seen this!*

I think that a lot of people came here because they thought that Coldplay was not objectively the best thing in the world but one of the best things in their world, and that they couldn't find enough people "in real life" to talk about how much they loved that music. That's why they came here, to share a little bit of madness for a band. Personally, I have a lot of people around me in real life regularly telling me that Coldplay is crap, so sometimes, when I come here, I'm hoping to finding something else. You might say that people come here to read what they already know, what they already think, what they already feel, but that's on purpose.

But like I said, non Coldplay fans posting here, it's totally fine to me! I personally think that it enriches the discussions. But even if it's a forum, even if we're here to discuss, even if I think that between you and Prophet of Prospekt (and the others), you're the one who is right, I think that you just can't blame Coldplay fans for searching fan attitude here, especially in the Coldplay area**. That's a battle you just can't win!

*Btw, just by curiosity, why did you non-coldplay-fan-guys choose Coldplaying? Why not U2ing or R.E.M.ing?

**But even in The Lounge... I never really understood people getting angry when a newcomer posts a Coldplay-loving-thread in The Lounge. Can't they understand those mistakes at all, and just wait for somebody to lock it? Anyway.

some people don't like Coldplay, that's fine.

what bothers me is when the non-Coldplay fans come into the Coldplay section just to be jerks.

How serious can you poll be when when of your answers is I'm Mark ?

I personally love the band , I know that not everyone is going to feel the same about them and everone is entirled to their opinion.

Thing is for me I would never take the time to post on a forum of a band that I didnt like . Me I just blank all the haters out.

Yup. It's completely unnecessary.:dozey:
