First Single and first album you ever bought

Featured Replies

Are we talking vinyl or CD? I'll do both....

Well I think the first CD album I ever bought was Abbey Road; that was about three years ago. I only own one single on CD, the single for Violet Hill, but I never bought that, it was a gift.

As far as vinyl goes....I don't have much. The first couple of albums on vinyl I acquired were gifts, but the first one I bought was Adam Green's "Minor Love".

I own three singles on vinyl and I bought all of them at the same time; Under Cover of Darkness by The Strokes, Siberian Breaks by MGMT, and Baby by Devendra Banhart.

Gosh, I'd forgotten about the Kelly Family - they were really big in Germany when I lived there but I don't remember them ever releasing anything in England. They were very odd

Aw, no need for shame, I think everyone's music taste changes quite radically as they grow up. If there'd been a Coldplay equivalent when I was a kid I'm sure I wouldn't have liked them

And my first album (think the Coldplay boys would approve of this one ;) )

Take on Me, from the album Hunting High & Low, A-ha

same single vinyl Take On Me and after album Hunting High & Low by A-ha

I hardly ever buy music. Only the music that I really like so I only own all of Coldplay and all of Radiohead and just torrent the rest.

No singles for me.

The first album I made my parents buy for me was a Pokemon soundtrack.

First album I bought with my own money was Funeral by Arcade Fire.

They were very popular in Switzerland as well. I'm sure I've still got a few of their CDs at my parent's house. :embarrassed:

First Single: DJ Bobo- Somebody Dance with Me

First Album: Take That- Everything Changes

Never bought a single, but the first album I bought was Mew - And the Glass Handed Kites.

in 2005 I found them ( discovered artists ) in a Store to buy CDs because me want buy Cds of others artists and well i look all covers of many bands. but the first reaction is the cover album "And the Glass Handed Kites" beautiful monumental slap in the face. Cd flew off the shelf (I did not understand my bad temper mood I hated the band Mew many years as every teardrop is a waterfall but Apparatjik came in 2008)

From Pokemon to Arcade Fire - that's the biggest leap yet!

The first CD I bought was Ace Of Base - "Happy Nation"

and the first single I bought was François Feldman - "Joy" in 1991 I think. It was a tape.
