My idea of LP5 album artwork

Featured Replies

Well, I was bored and thought it would be a good idea to make the album artwork for LP5. I presumed it's called Major Minus, but kept te .PSD file so that I can change it when I find out I'm wrong :P Used everything I've learned from studying graphic design.

At first I analyzed the style of the new album, and drew the conclusion that it's a mix up between white rose foundation and new york graffiti (concrete and rose references everywhere), so i mixed up those styles and the conclusion was this:

What do you guys think?

(and perhaps feel free to give your say on how you would like the new album artwork to look!)

I really love the way 'Coldplay' looks :P

I've always pictured it in my head as a picture of a blank concrete wall with *album title* and 'Coldplay' spray painted over it graffiti-style

I see you are a bright red rose combusting into concrete. A cartoon heart?

I think the art will be ridiculously colorful. Kind of like the ETIAW cover...

Which is both good and bad. I dunno.

Anyway, I like yours though :)

Yes, I light a fire from a spark!

I loved the font used for 'Coldplay' as well, but I really wanted the paint to run down the "canvas", so I used another one for the album title.

And by the way, I am from the same country as the man who did the AROBTTH artwork! :shocked2:

EDIT: Thanks, Baw8cc! I've got that feeling about colors as well, but I really don't hope so.. It draws the attention away from anything else, so it's impossible to include other elements (like the rose or that eye from the new ETIAW video).

I still think the Lyrics are "Light a fire up on the Spot" OOT :P

But he Design looks cool.

I like it a whole lot, excellent. :) I might even use it for single artwork in my library... I'm such a stickler about single artwork. :smart:

Cool! It's very great, I think the album will have a similar artwork ;)

:laugh4: Good to know that I'm not the only one!

am i the only one?

i really dislike the "coldplay"-font here .____.

i've seen it somewhere, too often i guess, it's... nah, that is just not coldplay

just see etiaw, i'd rather head that way with the cover

It's funny, because I hate the ETIAW cover...

...but I really love this. The only thing I would change is...the background color. It's a tad...yellow for my taste.

This is honestly the only thing that has ever come to my mind.

That's how much imagination I have.

I think the new album will have the font of the artwork of ETIAW, considering that the single and album covers of previous alba have been very similar, but nice try though.

Do you guys like mine?

Haha we know absolutely nothing. At this point we should probably just wait it out before we all get crazy.

:gossip:

Nice to see the "interactive" creation - I mean, surely, there has been lots of co-inspirations between Co. and the Co.ers.

I really like your design. There is a "coldplay" in you - very alive and expressive.

I had the same idea, but couldn't find any other color that didn't make the rose "drown" (if you see what I mean).

This is honestly the only thing that has ever come to my mind.

I've definitely considered that one to be a possibility, but I think it may have more to do with Hurts Like Heaven than the album as a whole. It kinda reminds me of a colorful version of the A Rush Of Blood artwork :P
