I know you just can't pick a favourite song or leave a song off it

  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

I agree. I love the whole album from start to finish. 15 Step is such a great opener and by the time you're at Jigsaw Falling Into Place, you know you only have one song left... and personally, I'm always ready to run to the radio and start it over as soon as Videotape is done! :D

Did i just made the worst mistake of my life? I dont know... The daughtry albums pretty good and its growing on me.... But I truelly love Radiohead becoz of fake plastic trees...House of cards has got to be their worst songs yet it makes you sleep bad

take a break and come back to it. radiohead for me is not a band that you get in one or even 2-4 listens, it usually takes a bit more. i would definetly not give up on them

Agreed. It took me about 6 listens to "get" Kid A.

i don't see whats so bad about a song that makes u go to sleep. parachutes makes me go to sleep yet its one of my favourite albums. personally i think music should be relaxing and i often use my favourite albums to help me get to sleep.

and i think Kid A took me about 8 or 9 listens to realise how good it was. it wasnt until i realised that it was an 'anti-rock' album that i appreciated its brilliance.

^I agree. I used to laugh when my friend (a metalhead) kept telling me coldplay would make him fall asleep. I thought 'that's how you know it's working!'. Music doesn't need to be intrusive like an amped up rock song or a pounding dance beat. It can be calming and impressively amazing at the same time. Sleep-inducing never necessarily means 'boring', it's just another type of auditory experience.

Try not comparing them side-by-side, to get album's like Kid A (or this case 'In Rainbows') you need to appreciate it on it's own. Of course it won't be as flashy or immediately enjoyable as a...well...one of those other albums, but under the surface, IMO, is a much richer musical experience. Remember it's a minimalist album, so take time to soak in the nuances like a fine California merlot. :P

Wait... I'm having trouble deciphering the irony in this thread. Who's actually being serious here? Usually I'm pretty good and telling, but right now I am just as lost in the world as that daughtry fan, apparently.

well I know I wasn't serious.. :P

what she said

I mean.... Daughtry? Over Radiohead? *shudder*

Shouldn't that constitute some sort of ban from this thread?

So lock the kids up safe tonight

Put the eyes in the cupboard

And either way you turn

I'll be there

Open up your skull

I'll be there

Climbing up the walls

Radiohead Suffer the Wrath of Miley Cyrus

Two words I never thought I'd write on this website: It's Miley! Teen pop queen Miley Cyrus may resemble a Juicy Couture mom, but she's figured out the most direct route into our little P4k news bubble-- dissing Radiohead. (Hey, it worked for Robert Smith and Kanye.) Bitching to Portland morning zoo radio hosts Johnjay and Rich, the teen pop idol recently relayed an ADD-addled story about how Radiohead snubbed her at this year's Grammys (via Stereogum). Listen to the whole gum-smacking interview here. The gist: Apparently, Radiohead are the only band in the world Miley "would cry over," and "they're the reason I love music," which is shocking enough. (Next thing you know her favorite album turns out to be Amnesiac and she's doing an acoustic cover of "Like Spinning Plates" in concert.) So when she tried to get her people to pull some strings for an awkward backstage meeting at the Grammys, Radiohead's crew told Miley's crew that the band "doesn't really do that." Amazing.

This did not sit well with Miley-- a girl, I imagine, who doesn't hear the word "no" too often. "The reason I'm in this business is to make people happy," she said, suggesting Radiohead are not in it to make people smile. No shit! Radiohead are about making people miserable-- beautifully, heart-explodingly miserable! Get it straight, Cyrus!

She said, "I left 'cause I was so upset. I wasn't going to watch. Stinkin' Radiohead! I'm gonna ruin them, I'm going to tell everyone." While it's possible she was kidding, it's kinda hard to tell.

The Disney megastar also admitted that "if someone else pukes, I start puking" during the interview. Just a little factoid for you there.

Miley Cyrus>Daughtry>Radiohead

I find that article so hard to take seriously. No offense to pitchfork, but I'm gonna see if there are similar articles laying around...

:edit: nme and about five other websites have posted the exact same article but the only source I can find is just some website 'staff'. It's still really funny in any case.
