March 29, 201115 yr Well, I mean...I don't really know how to explain it without making me seem like a bit of a music snob. :embarrassed:

Secondly... okay, so in both New York AND in DC there were more than enough to go around?!? wtf, I don't want to go so far as to say that Greg's right (about America not deserving Radiohead), but... :bigcry:

March 30, 201115 yr Hey Mike, did you meet any fans? yeah I was talking to 2 people who were cool. The thing is that I was standing in the right spot because I checked the map they supplied online and it was correct (also there were so many other people waiting there too). But then 1pm came and there was nothing, and a few people rounded the corner w/ the newspaper and everyone started running to the other side of the building. Unfortunately from that I lost track of the people I met. England win. No American tour. Thom told me he was only touring whoever impressed him the most. sweeeeeeet!!! I guess he'll be playing a show at my house! :D \ I could've gotten 10 if I wanted. Will discuss in a few minutes...gotta respond to some facebook messages and all. sweeeet!! glad you got a few. It was the same for me, I could've gotten more, but I didn't want to be too greedy... but looking back i would've got more...haha also they took my picture too :P

March 30, 201115 yr As I as well as others predicted the night before, Radiohead fucked up with their DC locations. Both addresses were wrong. I showed up at Jefferson and 7th, but, upon realizing that it was an entirely residential area, I turned around and went back to Union Station (which had the wrong address but my GPS got me there). I arrived there about 2 hours early. Union Station is like a train station combined with a mall, so I went around to all of the shops (mainly FYE Record Store, Barnes and Noble, and a few newspaper stands) asking if they knew anything about it. They all told me that tons of people were asking but none of them knew where exactly the event was gonna take place. I wandered around asking people (and looking for people in Radiohead shirts) until at 12:55 I saw some guy from about 40 meters away with the TKOL artwork in his hands. I ran up to him and asked where he got it, and he pointed to one of the entrances, so I ran out and there they were, two college-age guys wearing UNIVERSAL SIGH shirts. There were only about 25 Radiohead fans there (probably because of the fucked up addresses) so they were literally asking 'How many do you want?' to each person who asked. At first I didn't want to be greedy so I only asked for two, but then a few minutes later when they still had hundreds left and no one asking for them, I asked for three more. I talked to them for a while; they have a friend who's an intern at a music company and that's how they got the gig. One of them has my email address so as soon as he contacts me I'm gonna ask if he has any more copies. The security guards showed up and made them move across the street actually :laugh1: so they weren't even handing them out at Union Station after all. After having lunch, I walked past the guys again and they were totally alone with hundreds of copies left. I regret not asking for a stack of ten of them, considering how many people are begging me for my four extra copies :( Here's me with a random Radioheader who I met while there: http://www.theuniversalsigh.com/photos?page=1&photo=5028%2F5572249685_ecb9d2cf3a.jpg And here's an article about the fucked addresses: http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/artsdesk/music/2011/03/29/radioheads-bad-map-lures-fans-to-brightwood/
March 30, 201115 yr Wow, that's messed up. I like the article, they did a pretty good job of summarizing the situation and interviewed quite a few people. I wonder if Radiohead will be made aware of this... and at least one 400-mile-carbon-footprint-for-moot.
April 3, 201115 yr new burial album announced. thom yorke singing title track released in june on hyperdub
