Nice! I'm cheering for Atletico just 'cos I'm a Bayern Munchen fan :p

but it will be a tough game

People in high school just don't care and it pisses me off. It amazes me how many friends I have who are about to become seniors, and I still have no idea what they want to do with their lives

Just throwing in my two cents here, I agree completely with your first statement; people don't care at all about what's important in High School (and what they do care about, I find to be pretty stupid). The second statement struck me as kinda mean though. I can see why you would think that, but, at least for me, I like so many academic things that I can't narrow down my interests to one thing that I would like to do with the rest of my life. I'm only a sophomore, so I guess I still have time do decide, but I have absolutely no clue as to where I want to go to college, much less what I want to do.

EDIT: Oh hey, my 500th post!

When I got my AA, I still had no clue what I wanted to do. When I was in my advisors office at SLU to get enrolled in that university... I still had no clue but I HAD to select a major to get the sign-up process going. To this day, even though I have my BS, I still don't know what I want to do. It's natural. I can't be pegged down to any one thing. Yeah I have a health care degree, but I would be open to working in a vast variety of industries. There's nothing more nerve-racking than having to choose a major and you don't even know what you want to do. I was unlucky in that sense. My time had run out and I had to make a choice. Some people know well ahead of time like Reagan for instance, which is a blessing.

I'm talking about the people who aren't interested in anything academically and are too busy partying to doing drugs to think about what they're going to do after high school. They don't have any ideas to narrow down

Yup. I didn't like being babied in high school either though. It felt more like daycare to me than learning anything. There of course were still some idiots in college that didn't take it seriously, mostly on their parents' dime, and you could tell they weren't going to finish, but for the most part everybody had a legitimate interest in learning, which was refreshing. When I got into night classes with a bunch of working-class adults, I enjoyed my time a lot more, which was what SLU basically offered. I went to college from around 6 to 9pm a day a week for in-seat classes. A large majority of my degree I did online courses. I appreciated the in-seat classes a lot more, I love interaction. I would take them whenever they were offered.

Yes! Exactly! I go to a school that's at least slightly better than the others in my area, so it tries to be focused on learning, but there's still that daycare-like feeling that I absolutely hate! I want to go to school and learn for the sake of knowledge, not just to keep me out of my parents' way for seven hours a day!

I don't have the issue where I live. The issue here is that they hold back the kids who want to learn while they try to force everyone else to learn.

What happened!!!!

Penalty....and Ronaldo scores. 4-1.

Ronaldo sucks. Couldn't score a real goal so he flops in the box to get a PK
