fainting at the sight of blood.

Featured Replies

Does anyone else get really dizzy and feel like they're going to pass out (or actually pass out :|) when they see blood?

Blood isn't even gross to me, but my body reacts in such a strange way. :/

edit: yeah, there were franz lyrics here. then there weren't. :p

The sight of blood doesn't bother me, personally, but I do know other people who react to it...:P

That's the funny thing, though. In my head, everything is fine. I'm like, "Oh, blood." But my body goes nuts and wants to fall over and die.

I don't I think it looks cool, unless I'm bleeding a lot.

It's stupid, but I get dizzy only if it oozes from my hand/fingers :blank: I have no problem otherwise. I know it's stupid, but

^ that's weird. it seems like there are a lot of worse places to bleed from that would more readily cause dizziness. o.o

this made me lol for some reason.

I know! That's why I think it's silly, and I say "meh, it's nothing serious, just a bit a blood" but I can't help the dizziness :disappointment:

ME. ME. ME.

The only reason why I couldn't study medicine.

I'm okay when I see blood or even big injuries for that matter.

I know these three brothers.

One of them cut their leg badly playing football. Which isn't good because when one of the other brothers sees blood, he throws up. And the last brother hates the sight of puke and throws up when he sees it.

i faint at the sight/thought/sound of anything

doesnt it rock being a weak teenage boy :dazzled:

Only thoughts: 'oh, oops, wonder how that came about'.

wow that makes a very good anecdote. :|

i only had that feeling once, was around a year ago my two uncles were doing some work at home, and one hit his finger with a cutting tool and bleed a bit much, i felt dizzy, seems i was close to lose consciousness, and things went black and white for me, i had to go lay to calm.

other than that time i never had that problem, though i hadn't seen much blood since then.

thought i bet if i would had seen my neigbour falling down his windown this year probably i would had freaked out totally -my dad was so shocked until we knew a couple days after that he'll be fine and will recover- and be of no use to help the man, thankfully he is recovering from his injuries.

Nope, I'm fine with it.

I can understand why some people might have that reaction though, even if they are mentally okay with it. It is probably a ingrained response in the way that the "fight or flight" response is ingrained; the mind/body is like "whoa this isn't right, something isn't safe or right if something that should stay inside the body is now outside the body, eeeww". Not sure if that makes sense, but maybe you can see what I'm getting at.

^I kind of thought about that, but it's rather annoying that my mind has relatively no control over my body in certain situations. :|

I enjoy dissecting in science :blank:

So did I. :awesome:

When I was in high school, I took a day trip to an elementary school and showed a class how to dissect lungs. FUN FUN FUN

I enjoy dissecting in science :blank:

we never did that here, thought my teacher in school once dissected a cow heart or something in the class of the older students, but when i was at that year he didn't do it. :|
