Hey guys, not sure where to post this but just need some help, tomorrow I have a job interview and have to give a personal presentation which I have chosen coldplay! Just looking for inspiration so I'm just wondering why do you love coldplay (on a personal level) I no how great you all are so please if you have a minute could you let me no!

It's so funny that Coldplay's worst album is still one of the better albums around.

And as far as where mx will fit into that, I expect from what we've heard, it will compete with viva for my affections if not top it

For me: AROBTTH - PARACHUTES - X&Y - VIVA AND... I DON'T KNOW WHERE WILL I PUT MYLO XYLOTO, BUT I HOPE THAT IN A GOOD POSITION!

 

AND I'M ALWAYS WAITING FOR AROBTTH 2. STILL WONDERING WHEN WILL THEY RELEASE IT? MAYBE NEVER? MAYBE IS THE ACOUSTIC AND CONCEPT ALBUM THAT WE ARE WAITING FOR TOO?

outside of Fix You, X&Y feels like it features chris's voice more then any other instrument by far. once it gets past speed of sound, the album really goes downhill

 

After Speed of Sound, the only one that gets me is Twisted Logic. So i pretty much agree with you here. First half of the album is awesome. Second half...meh.

 

I also like the first half of AROBTTH better than the second half.

 

On Viva, i love every song except for Reign of Love.

You are asking me who is my favorite child.

They are all different, unique and special in their own way. Sometimes, I feel like listening to LP1, sometimes to LP4. When I have a heartbreak LP3 is my best remedy and all the lyrics speak to me. I absolutely love LP4 and it always gives me a lot of energy and I usually play it in the background when I'm working on my computer.

However, I can say what are my top 5 favorite songs:

1- Clocks

2- Everything's not lost (live2003)

3- Warning Sign

4- Prospekt's March

5- The rest

6- the 3% that I don't like

 

Now about LP5, it's too early to say but ETIAW is my workout song right now and I can't wait to hear Paradise in 3 weeks.

I think I will always prefer Parachutes and AROBTTH over everything else. X&Y is supposed to be part of the pre-Eno trilogy, but mentally, I have a hard time considering it that way and clump it more with VLV and I guess the upcoming MX as well (which most certainly seems like it's going to be more in the vein of VLV than anything else, I think we can agree). I'm not sure if I'm the only one who does that.

 

That said, some of my favorite Coldplay songs are off of VLV and one or two off X&Y, so I'm mostly speaking in terms of whole albums and eras.

AROBTTH and Parachutes of course.

The first three will be the best, until they release something similar in fashion. I love the new direction Coldplay is heading, and Brian Eno did the right thing by helping them improve their style, but I hope for at least one more 'basic-Coldplay' record before they are done. (Which I guarantee will happen.)

edit : I love LP2, the songs are epic, LP4 is good , LP1 is good [shiver and yellow are the greatest`s hits in the album]

mmm LP3 is ... good in the middle, i like the sound of twisted logic, swallowed by the sea, talk, speed of sound , the hardest part ,and love fix you

The former. Even if X&Y was counted with LP4 and 5, I'd still pick the former. Don't care much for X&Y.

Hard to say. AROBTTH and Viva are the two best albums by them in my opinion so naturally it's a mixture of both.

 

Agreed. LP2 and LP4. Can't really judge LP5 until it's been out for at least a week. If not more.

LP1,2,3 but switch X&Y with VLV. I just can't listen to X&Y straight through without wanting to skip a song.

Who am I kidding? I love them all. However, AROBTTH and X & Y will always be my favorite albums.
