After comparing the iTunes PoC to the "leaked" one the only major difference I can hear is quality... And that makes a big deal. You can definitely hear Chris more and the bass is immense. Now the radio versions I have heard sound like they were recorded from computer speakers so I can't speak on CB or HLH but if the quality upgrade changed PoC that much I can imagine it making HLH sounds better and CB sound sharper.

 

After listening to the leaked version a lot today, I've just realised that most of the time that 'something missing' on the songs for me is relating to the volume. In HLH, CB, DLIBYH and perhaps even UATW the volume seems a little off. Notably in CB, the vocals seem to be really, really quiet and muffled, then the guitar kicks in about twice as loud. I'm not sure if they intended it like this but it just doesn't seem...right. Also Chris' vocals go extremely quiet in parts of Hurts like Heaven, then suddenly get louder.

 

I'm not expecting any major changes to the songs, but I do think the leaked songs aren't quite finished, as there seems to be a lot of post production tweaks to be made.

I agree with some of the people on here; some parts sound almost messy, so this leak may very well be an incomplete version. Which means, since I like it know, I'll love the official version!

all artists are perfectionists. while i love coldplay the fact they are perfectionists about their art and creativity is neither new nor all that noteworthy. additionally, the examples i gave above, of mistakes on dylan's album and the beatles albums. i think its also safe to say, both the beatles and dylan were and are perfectionists. yet both included mistakes on final finished albums

Well, certainly, I've listened to the Hurts Like Heaven that has been broadcasted in BBC1 with Zane Lowe, and definitely and certainly sounds and feels better with Chris' voice and music than the leaked one...

 

So it's true, boys and girls, the leaked one that we heard is not the definitive MX which is going to be in stores...

The introduction of PoC sounds a lot different on the R1 stream and the iTunes stream compared to the leak, and Rihanna's voice sounds a lot worse on the leak.

i agree they arent coldplay, but to suggest that coldplay have higher standards than them is silly. i think Rush of Blood is one of the best albums of the 2000's and one of my favorites of all time, and i loved VLV, but bands leave in mistakes all the time, and its not just the beatles or dylan. Radiohead have done it. Clapton.

 

To hear you all tell it, its uncommon and strange, maybe it is for the band, but it certainly isnt in music history, distant or recent.
