Weird Synth Sighs

Featured Replies

I really don't like the 3 synth sigh things in the first half of the song. I wish someone would like edit them out because if they weren't there this would be my favorite song. It just like ruins the mood :\ Am I the only one?

Yea. They're somewhat growing on me though... But they are a tad annoying especially at first. Love the song though

I don't like it. At first when I heard it I was, "WTF was that?" The second time or so, "That's annoying."

But I'm slowly starting to not notice it though. :P

^Agreed, i thought it was weird but now it's just a part of the song for better or for worse

I have listened to it a lot more and am starting to notice it slightly less which is good. I really like MX it is just that their are a lot of little things in it that I wish I could go in and change. For example this, and the vocal effects on HLH.

I really like the sigh things..It's one of the reasons I really like UWTB

Yeah, from the moment I heard them I thought they were amazing. They remind me of Bon Iver.

I really, really love this song. Thinking it might be my favourite from the album. At least, of the songs we hadn't heard.

i think they symbolize the boy and girl character dying. and the screeching noises in the middle of the song represent the birds, or heaven, or a culmination of both.

the song as a whole is describing death in a way i think.

LOL they threw me off too. Still I loveeeeee this song. LOVE!

I thought those were voices; not synth screams.

Me too. It gives it a dreamy quality.

Listen when that starts : "A simple Plot..." i swear i can hear Chris seesawing on his chair.

On the XFM Playback interview, the boys said that this piece of sound/music is as sample of a Queen song. Interesting.

I like them! Mostly because they made me go :wtf: on first listen! The first half does kind of sound like a Disney song though

I remember thinking it was weird the first time I heard it and had no clue what direction it was going, but the second half of the song is :awesome:

Plus I thought they were short snippets of Chris, not synths...

i thought it was weird at first, but now i like what it adds to the songs.

Wasn't too sure about the 'sighs' at first but now I think they suit the song really well.

Yeah they meant Brian May, at least that's what it says in the credits.

Don't like them - they're completely unnecessary imho.

Shut up!! Those sighs gave me shivers. It's the best thing they've come up with so far and it's such a vast improvement in comparison with wa-wa-wa para-para-la-la-la-la-ooooooooh repetition thing.
