Politik into Violet Hill into Us with the Birds would have some nice transitions

The end of ETIAW was tailor made as a transition into In My Place

I like how they usually finish up the live version of Yellow with a big flourish which I think would lead nicely into Hurts Like Heaven

Sorry I have no setlist to share, but does everyone think those three songs are the perfect songs for an encore? (not that I dislike it or anything)

Fix You and ETIAW are perfect for an encore. But I'm not a huge fan of clocks at all.

My three perfect encore songs would be:

DLIBYH/LIT2

Fix You

ETIAW

1. A Hopeful Transmission/Don't Let it Break Your Heart

2. Talk

3. Clocks

4. Trouble

5. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall

I really, really like this set list..

It's not plausible for a few reasons, but boy I wish they'd use it.

I certainly don't expect anything resembling this, but if I got to pick my own Coldplay show for this tour (meaning emphasising the new album) then this is what mine would be.

1. Mylo Xyloto

2. Hurts Like Heaven

3. Yellow

4. Cemeteries Of London

5. In My Place

6. Lost!

7. Violet Hill

8. Charlie Brown

9. Life Is For Living

10. God Put A Smile Upon Your Face

11. Major Minus

12. The Scientist

13. Paradise

14. Politik

15. Up In Flames

16. Us Against The World

17. Til Kingdom Come/Ring Of Fire

18. A Hopeful Transmission

19. Don't Let It Break Your Heart

20. Fix You

21. Viva La Vida

22. Lovers In Japan

23. M.M.I.X.

24. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

------------------------------------------

25. Clocks

26. U.F.O.

27. Up With The Birds

i realy think they should do something like Pink Floyd did with Pulse....the first half of the set list straight through 'mylo xyloto', Then they could some instrumental break and go into a hits setlist with the 'Coldplay Classics', and finish it with Fix You, Politik, and In My Place as encores.

Now, this is guaranteed NOT to happen, but the OP did ask for my setlist :) Firstly, I'd call it The UFO Tour.

A-Stage

1 Life in Technicolor ii

2 Cemeteries of London

3 Yellow

6 Charlie Brown

7 Violet Hill

8 Every Teardrop is a Waterfall

That's what I'd love. There are so many great songs, and I still had to leave some out.

* Lost?! is a version I have in my head somewhere between Lost! and Lost?. Maybe like Lost? but on guitar instead of piano.

I highly doubt their setlist will greatly differ from those from the summer festival shows. I think they'll add Up In Flames and Don't Let It Break Your Heart (maybe) to the permanent setlist. I also don't think there'll be any Lovers In Japan, A Rush Of Blood or anything like that, they'll only focus on singles (I know LIJ was one) from previous albums and tracks from this album. I'd say a 23 song set at about max.

MX / Hurts Like Heaven

Life in Technicolor ii

Major Minus

Charlie Brown

Violet Hill

God Put a Smile Upon Your Face

Lovers In Japan

U.F.O.

Princess of China

Us Against the World

The Scientist

Lost? / Lost!

Paradise

Shiver

Up In Flames

Don't Let It Break Your Heart

Yellow

Clocks

Viva La Vida

Speed of Sound

Fix You

Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall

So they are going to drastically cut their set length from the VLV tour, despite having more material now? :dozey:

Its got nothing to do with cutting. Its about diversifying and substituting some songs. Ive said it before but ill say it again for slow people like yourself. The band, i.e Guy specifically have stated on numerous occasions that they prefer to do shorter and more diverse shows, paying close attention to any parts of the show that go on for too long.

Its not complicated when you think about it. :dozey:

1 Mylo Xyloto/Hurts Like Heaven

2 Yellow

3 In My Place

4 Major Minus

5 The Scientist

6 Strawberry Swing

7 Daylight

8 Lovers In Japan

9 Paradise

10 Us Against The World

11 Up In Flames

12 Sparks

13 Dont Let It Break Your Heart

14 Viva La Vida

15 Charlie Brown

16 Fix You

17 Up With The Birds

------------------------

18 Clocks

19 Amsterdam

20 M.M.I.X./Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

I know it's a looongshot but this would be my dream setlist :)

Apart from a few songs here and there this is much more realistic compared to some of these lunatics lists on here.

1.) Mylo Xyloto

2.) Hurts Like Heaven

3.) In My Place

4.) Yellow

5.) Major Minus

6.) Charlie Brown

7.) A Rush of Blood to the Head

8.) Speed of Sound

9.) Viva la Vida

10.) Shiver

11.) The Scientist

12.) Princess of China

13.) Violet Hill

14.) Talk

15.) Clocks

16.) Paradise

ENCORE

17.) M.M.I.X.

18.) Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall

19.) Fix You

20.) Don't Let It Break Your Heart

The hits, the new stuff and a rarely played classic. That's about the best I can expect from this tour. I chose the songs I think are better from MX so I'm hoping this is at least somewhat accurate to how it turns out.

Some people are just really bad at making setlists.

Mine's probably bad and will never happen - but it's just what I'd personally love. More realistically, it'd be similar to the festival setlist, but with more songs I imagine. I just wish they'd substitute Lost, Life is for Living (even though I love it), In My Place and maybe Violet Hill with different songs.

Mylo Xyloto (Instrumental)

Hurts Like Heaven

Lost!

Speed of Sound

Princess of China

Glass of Water

Yellow

Paradise

B-Stage

Warning Sign (New arrangement)

White Shadows (New arrangement)

The Scientist

Politik

Viva La Vida

C-Stage

EncoreI

Every Teardrop is a Waterfall

Clocks

Lovers in Japan

EncoreII

Fix You

Up in Flames

Don't Let It Break Your Heart

Mylo Xyloto (Never Heard Outro Version)

The only thing I really wish they would do is make their setlists longer. I know that Guy says they like their concerts short and sweet, but if they want to be the big band they are, get on with the responsibility then. 5 albums - 19 songs? Come on,give me a break. Around 24 should be more realistic, honestly.

  • 1 month later...

The perfect setlist?

Now that MX is out, what would your dream setlist look like?

16. White Shadows

17. Fix You

Oh yes. :charming: I like that. It was easier than I thought.

I chose to leave out beautiful quiet songs like Strawberry Swing because I think they don't sound that good when played in an arena.

Left out a lot of VLV favorites actually. Love the songs, but they're not good in concert (a lot of weird instruments that they don't play live).

But I'd add a bunch of VIVA songs if they increase the number of songs they play on this tour...

On Twitter "Christmas Lights being dusted off for the festive season. Will"

CL is back in the setlist !

After a good half hour i have my perfect setlist for the upcoming festive-shows

I have brought back the 26 songs of the VLVODAAHF Tour.

I hope this is the setlist except when a artist dies or a band stops then they will play a tribute :P

I also haven't left out a song they must play (Like Fix You, VLV, Scientist Etc)

Also I think it will be great if they start each ''set'' with the opening song of each album.

And Maby (I hope not) they will save 1 or 2 MX-songs for the MX-tour
