I think it's possible to like the three former albums and not to like the newest, because Muse's style on Black Holes and Revelations is quite different...

 

But, yeah, I love them all and I can't choose one either !

But you're so right, i mean when you first told me about Supermassive Black Hole, i was excited and thought about a rockish some stockholm style so the first listen was weird, it didnt sound like msue at all :o

 

But after a few listen i totally loved it!!Now it sound so museish that i cant belive i didnt recognize it at fist and when i finally got my copy of the new album i got more addicted, gotta love their new style! I really dont care what others think when they say that their new album is crap or that they suck cos I'm a proud muser and always will be :wacko:

Haha, I must agree with you on that.

 

I'm a big Muse fan from back when Coldplay were supporting them in 150 capacity venues...Chris Martin trying to flog CD's at the end of the gig...:)

 

Anyway, their music used to have such good melodies but I can barely listen to the new one.....2 or 3 tracks but that's it.

 

I think when making it they got too excited & carried away on all the new 'little' ideas and styles that they put into the songs and thought that this made the songs great......forgetting about actually writing a decent song that doesn't use the same classical chord progressions and some lack-luster melodies as before....

 

Don't get me wrong, I still like Muse, I think as 'musicians' they are great....and I've seen them get better and better at that over time. I used to get quite obsessed about Matts guitar craziness when I was learning the guitar.....learning all the parts and watching live gigs, as they used to be absolutely mental.

i shouldn't be on... but i can't help myself posting a few things here and there. naughty me. :disappointed: i'm in the middle of my trial exams... and i'm still here. ppsssshhhhhh. it's bad. oh well. but yes, that's exactly what i was thinking of, how it was weird listening to supermassive for the first time, but my goodness, after that, you realise how amaazzzingngdskfsjdlkgsfantasticdjaskjas they are. ahhhhhh love. okay now i leave to study for tomorrows exam. :disappointed:
