The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You

Ooh nice Lore! I don't think Lolla Chicago is quite that cheap, but it's not as much as say...Coachella, which cost me $320 for a pass and hundreds more for lodging. Lolla will end up being even more for me since I'm spending $400 on a round-trip flight on top of a hotel and pass. Altogether these festivals are like all the money I've made in the past 2 years, but seeing as how I graduate next year and will have to start working full-time, it's basically my final year that I actually have time to go as insanely wild with live music as I want. Going out with a BANG.

Then again, once I start working full-time, I can probably afford attending the next Wembley. :laugh3:

I totally understand that, it's my last year too :wacky: so I'm going to as many concerts as I can, I was going to get tickets to see coldplay in rock in rio but decided to plan a trip to NY instead :wacky: I'll see if that works because once I get a real job I won't have too much free time D:

Luckily all the big concerts in Chile are in my city. U2+Muse will be just a few blocks away from home and lolla is 20 minutes far from here if I take a bus :wacky: I'm seeing the killers in an intimate show in around 10 days too :wacky: (also 20 minutes far from here)

  • I've been a Muse fan for a couple of years now. I liked a couple of their hits but then a friend invited me to come with him to a Muse concert with him in 2013. The live experience was amazing and I h

 Awww. That totally sucks. One day though you will be able to totally do the whole US festival scene... Or even, you never know, one might come into existence in your area. Festivals are being born all the time!

Thanks.

There was another festival her, called All Points West festival, but it ended in 2009. :bigcry:

Christina we can go to a festival together once you turn 18 or 19 and I turn erm.. 90 years old

:cheesy:!

I'd still go with you to a festival if you were 90. :wacky:

Hm, how old are you? 25 or so? So you're about 10 years older than me, so when you're 30 we can go. :awesome:

awww

nahh I'm 23 I'll turn 24 in july :wacky:

$320?! :shocked2: That's like just under £200! That's so expensive especiall without it having lodging included.

Tell me about it. The pass itself was $270 but they charged an extra FIFTY dollars in "convenience" fees. I'm pretty sure printing and shipping a bloody wristband does not cost fifty dollars for the promoter. Probably doesn't even cost them five dollars. Crooks.

I get the feeling that Reading is going to be £180-£200 this year but you get camping included in that at least!

That's really nice. At Coachella, not only is camping super limited, but it costs almost as much as it would to stay in a hotel, and that's not even counting the additional fee they charge for having your car parked there for 3 days. Instead we got a hotel a whole 40 minutes away. Thankfully for Lollapalooza, I'm staying half a block away from the park. Two minute walk at most. :nice:

I'm doing pretty much the same though. I'm doing all my festivals whilst at uni because after getting a real job-- I probably will have more of the funds... But not the time :( This year I'm doing: Great Escape (in Brighton), Benicassim (Spain) and Reading (UK)... The year after my friends and I have decided to buy ourselves a campervan and tour around Europe doing festivals which will probably need me to sell half my organs to afford but

Yeah, the plus side to having a real job is that I'll be able to afford these expenses regularly. The downside is that I won't have as much free time.

That's like daylight robbery! It can't cost that much at all! I think my processing fee for Benicassim was £10 and that's because the tickets are coming over from Spain.

:shocked2: A festival with limited camping? All the UK festivals and most of the European ones have camping spaces for pretty much everyone that attends the event for the weekend. Then there's extra tickets for the people who just want day passes and so they don't have to provide space for.

It's good that you're so close for Lolla though :awesome:

Okay... So technically it's not announced yet... But the line up has leaked in Kerrang magazine and Muse ARE confirmed to be playing the Sunday night.

However, I'm finding the rest of the line up a bit of a disappointment. Okay, so Elbow and Interpol are good on that day... But the rest I will have seen earlier in the year either at Beni or Brighton...

Wow, yay Muse! :awesome:

The line up on the third day is kind of shit though (with the exception of Muse). Like, there's not a single other artist playing that day that I'd want to go see.

Out of the first day, I'd only want to see White Lies and Beady Eye. :|

The second day has the best lineup imo. The Strokes, The National, and TDCC. :awesome:

^ I like Interpol and Friendly Fires... But I will already have seen Friendly Fires twice before in the year... And tickets to Interpol go for about £23 at most normally.

TDCC are awesome live. I can't believe they are main stage... It was insane last year in the NME tent. :awesome: And I'm seeing The Strokes at Beni in July.

But yeah. Not a lot of bands making me want to go. I think IoW lineup is better.

The line-up this year is a bit disappointing tbh. Friday is awful - MCR, 30STM, The Blackout and Bring Me The Horizon, oh dear. But of course it's great Muse are headlining. :awesome:

Wow, you've seen a lot of bands! :P

I loooove TDCC but I've never seen them. :disappointed:

Guys. Muse and Elbow. On the same day. Someone. Pay for my plane/tickets so I can see this. NOW.

-explodes-

I'M GOING TO LEEEEEEEEEDS!

I have to admit...I am an MCR fan and also a Beady Eye fan...it looks like they are going to clash!!!!!!!!!!! :(

My brother's going to Reading, he wants me to help him get tickets later, but because I can't go, we made a deal so he's paying me £5 and will ring me when Muse are on.

muse really will be headlining reading and Leeds:dance:

this means we'll get pro shot videos of the concert and maybe they'll even play the whole of exogensis :awesome:

@Natt thanks for that was waiting for Zane lowe's show for the lineup news

Really happy for all of you going to Reading/Leeds! :D

(I want my friggin' Lolla line-up already)

this means we'll get pro shot videos of the concert and maybe they'll even play the whole of exogensis :awesome:

More pro-shots are always good. :)

Full Exo has me in doubt, though. People thought they'd do it for Glasto. Didn't happen. People thought they'd do it for Wembley. Didn't happen.

My brother has got tickets. I'm jealous. :bomb:

Muse themselves have now confirmed Reading/Leeds! But...what's this?

At the festival, to celebrate 10 years since the release of Origin Of Symmetry, Muse will be playing songs from this album alongside others spanning their career to date. Not only this, but they'll also be bringing a whole new stage production that will only be used for these two performances.

I take back what I said about being happy for all of you going. You all suck.

I love you all, but you still suck. :P

Fucking hell! :wreck:

WHY CAN'T THAT BE IN THE US?!?!?!? :freak: :bigcry:

If they play Space Dementia or Micro Cuts I'm going to punch some puppies. IN THE FACE.

No, Christina! That's not fair to the poor puppies! :bigcry:

But yeah. I'll be insanely jealous about it. "Space Dementia" is one of my faves from that album.
