Boring old people music

Featured Replies

The term "Boring old people music" to refer to classic artists is such a 14 year old thing to say.

You like pop right? Try some new wave stuff like The Police, Duran Duran and A-Ha, fun music but still classics.

Sometimes I like to listen to Louis Armstrong. :wacky: Now THAT's old!

I also love a few songs that are very old as well, like this one:

Or this one:

It may sound boring, I realize that now :|

BUT THEY'RE STILL CUTE, ROMANTIC AND BEAUTIFUL SONGS SO DON'T JUDGE ME OK YOU COLD HEARTLESS PEOPLE!

^ It's not boring at all. Talking about some older stuff, I really love this song:

Only in the last 2 years have I really listened to older music, I'd never really heard anything by the Beatles besides there big hits and I only got into David Bowie through my favourite TV show. What I usually do is listen to a band's biggest hits then buy/download their most well loved album and listen to it a while and just carry on from there if I can't get into it I just leave it.

Also, just out of curiosity and to get a basis for your tastes, what do you think of this song?

I really like that song :wacky:

And now I'm thinking about Good Morning England :awesome: (uuh sorry, I mean The boat that rocked...damn movie titles changes between countries  )

I like this a lot.

 Why not.

A) Coldplay IS "pop music on the radio"

B) R.E.M., Duran Duran, The Cure, and Pink Floyd are all good starting points. Use those as springboards into earlier decades.

I really liked this!

Yes. But they also are/were an alt-rock band and they were my metaphorical bridge from one genre to another.

Giving "thanks" for all suggestions :)

"i guess i'm interested in either something poppy or electronic-y

as well as psychedelic music

or something that's rather repetitive and catchy and stays in your head?"

That's the best I can do!

Dee what about old U2? Do you listen to that? I think you'll really like this. It's got a memorable bass line and piano.

Have you listened to The Beach Boys? If I were you I'd bypass The Beatles' Revolver and Sgt Pepper and buy Pet Sounds.
