(I'm not sure if anyone on the forum is too young for the video, but still, it did end up being flagged...)

I originally wrote like 5 paragraphs of bullshit sprinkled with fancy words I learned in my Sociology 001 class but

you know what

just answer the polls

and also

let's start a discussion

what do you think

Is the video too graphic for the age group it was intended for?

What other advice would you give to young people, if you've already experienced your teenage or young adult years?

Do you think masturbation is "good for you" or it "poisons your mind"?

Do you think it's a solely 'male' thing to do?

Are males 'expected' to do it?

SO MANY QUESTIONS

I think masturbation is a normal think and it's just dumb to say, that it could poison your mind. Rather touching yourself when you're 13 than touching other people when you are obviously too young.

Masturbation is wonderful!

vector-rainbow-in-the-clouds-prev-by-dragonart.jpg?w=495&h=252

It's definitely not only a male thing to do. Everyone should do it. Everyone, go!, explore your own body, be sex positive!

I don't really believe that it 'poisons your mind'

People just think it's gross, not everyone but yeah.

I don't like that some people who think it's gross feel the need to shame people who do/want to

DAMN YOU DEE FOR MAKING PERVY THREADS!

that's what i was trying to say

damn mean people

Well I just watched the video :|

I don't see how it's "graphic", because it's just a guy talking, and it's not like he's giving a very graphic description of things.

The story of when he was 10 and he was in a car with his mom is quite funny

He gives good advice, imo. It's the kind of advice someone should give to teenagers, and the way he does it is fine. Though I'm not sure about his pants. I mean, I've seen that kind on sites and magazines, it is trendy, but I'm not sure it looks good on a guy. But that's not the topic...

As for the subject, well, yeah, males are more expected to masturbate than girls, but it doesn't mean it's an evil thing to do. I think female sexuality is more tabou that male sexuality. For instance, in movies, people are waay less shocked about a guy who masturbates than a girl. I'd say it's a sociological issue, that has to do with the place of women in our society. As Alex says in the video, it gives girls more independence, they don't rely only on men to find pleasure. Men being traditionally in position of power in our society, I'd say they weren't quite found of the idea. But that was, like, ages ago. Society needs to move on, and apparently it is, since young people like us seem to feel it shouldn't be only for guys. :)

^ Alex is allowed to wear weird pants. :phu:

This is the worst you guys are like twelve

which age group was the video intended for?

is it meant to be an education video or something?

is it a class task?

well the video is not so graphic. if it has been flag may be is for the 10 year old story.... (?) but if so then the talk i attended yesterday (about noir series) should be also flag since one of the speakers said 'pervert' at least 5 times through his speech. (though what can one expect when the man has done an essay about the matter?) he says the word easily.

on the part that if doing so 'poison your mind' other than a 'religious' thing which accepts sexuality only for repreduction, well i guess that is related to stuff people may use (or even think or imagine) while touching (which the guy doesn't mention on his video)... you can get graphic ideas that will go deep in your and so you'll want to try them and find them normal, when some part of society won't do and even when before that oneself found disgusting (as the guy said of the 10 years old story he found it bad now he changed his mind).

I agree with all of this post.

Seriously, if you think this video is too mature for 11-16 year olds, you've obviously never been 11-16 years old.

That links in with another thing that bothers me here, people trying to ban sex education in schools, because they think it will prevent teenage pregnancy.

If I give you some heroin (I'm not comparing sex to heroin) but I don't tell you the risks or benefits, and you have society talking about it all the time, in books, movies, TV, magazines, the Internet, through friends, your parents do it all the time

You're gonna try it. No doubt.

And the fact that teenagers tend to value the benefits more than the risks when making decisions makes it even more likely.

might start rambling onto irrelevant things if I keep going

It's just a casual video made by a famous person on Youtube.

Yeah, it might bother you now, but maybe later, it won't.

Whenever you take a bite to a soft and chewy rice krispie treat, think of Brent. Think of Brent fondly.
