Coldplay MX comic panel at Comic-Con (13 July 2012)

Featured Replies

Here's the official press release for the panel for Friday.

1:00-2:00 Bongo: Mylo Zyloto— Every album begins with the germ of an idea, every song tells a story, and now it is finally revealed that there is a secret narrative behind Coldplay's newest hit album and its enigmatic title Mylo Xyloto. Three years ago, frontman Chris Martin teamed up with Mark Osborne (Kung Fu Panda, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, and the upcoming The Little Prince) to develop the epic story that has gone on to inspire such chart-toppers as "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall," "Paradise," and "Princess of China." Join the creative team behind the new comic miniseries Mylo Xyloto -- Alejandro Fuentes, Steve Hamaker, and Dylan Haggerty -- and prepare to experience the sights and sounds of Coldplay in a whole new way. Room 23ABC

wat

It could, but I'll only believe after they say something about it, and the director's works made me a bit scared

^ Yeah, we can't take this for granted until they announced it.

And...OMG he worked with that guy because he loves Kung Fun Panda...or OMG is it why he mentioned that movie in several interviews last year when the album was released ? OMG that could totally be that!

:| Sorry. They may have done a comic. Maybe.

waaaaaat ??

OMG do you think that's what Chris meant a month ago when he said there were interesting news coming for the fans ?

A comic book series would be awesome.

^ I'm not really found of comics, a live action (NO CARTOON) movie with the songs as soundtrack could be nice, really nice.

Well, now thanks to this thread I don't feel like sleeping anymore  And it's 2.42 AM so I should

42 :awesome:

Thanks very much

This era really iz weird

I had read/heard about them wanting to make a MX movie when they began to work on LP5, but they said they abandoned the idea.

^ Yeah, they said it would take too long so gave up, and the original idea was a cartoon or something, I guess Chris just really loves Kung Fu panda

Interesting! I wish we had more info about this.

If it was manga it would ruin Coldplay for me. Maybe just MX

I think it's gotta be a movie of some sort, purely because it mentions the "sounds" of Coldplay. That alone makes a comic book seem a little unlikely, which as a fan of movies, a fan of Spongebob ( :) ) and not a fan of comics, is great! :D

That makes more sense. I'm thinking a cartoon MX movie since most of the the director's work is animated stuff.

That's curious.

"7 million xylobrytes - the name of the little critters in the Mylo Xyloto story .. which you'll be seeing much more of soon...PH"

Exciting stuff.Would love more information.

I agree with yous above more of an animated mx movie then manga stuff.

This could either be epicly good, or immeasurably bad. :P :L guess we'll just have to see...

Our top picks: Comic-Con Friday schedule

“Bongo: Mylo Xyloto”: You may not be able to pronounce it, but chances are you might be interested in the fictional story behind Coldplay’s ambitious concept album “Mylo Xyloto.” A new comic series from Bongo will tell the story behind the music. 1:00-2:00, room 23ABC.
