I just saw some spot on tv about a guy who was in the theater and went back to finish the movie. When they interviewed him he said we can only try to forgive. While that's all well and good he went on to say "you dont know what hes going through and you dont know why he did it." What a stupid thing to say. Theres NO excuse for what he did and the fact of the matter is if he of someone he was there with had gotten shot hed probably feel a little bit different.

It's not an excuse. But clearly this man has psycholigcal problems.

On the Norway camp attacks media coverage: it may not get coverage now, but I can assure it did get A LOT last July. Maybe not in USA, but in Europe it definitely got it.

Yeah, I was referring to American media.

The mass shootings in the US also seem quite special compared to the ones occurring elsewhere. I mean that the mass shootings in the US that I've heard of didn't appear to be tied to a political issue, as opposed to the ones in Europe, for instance.

An interesting point.

You are coming off a bit dense right now. One, you completely missed the point of the guy's statement. He wasn't excusing or trying to lesson the monstrosity of what happened, but stating a simple fact that people and their actions are the products of causal circumstances. There are no inherently evil people. If a person takes pleasure in rape it is because of some fucked up connections/coincidences in the universe that made them who they are. This doesn't excuse murderers from the law, but pretending Holmes had some kind of causa sui authority over himself from birth only leads to misplaced hatred.

The death penalty costs much more than imprisonment.

Yeah, I've heard that..

Uuh no, don't throw them in the ocean :uhoh:

Lawl why not.

Lawl why not.

Because any human is entitled to human rights. Even if that human is the most awful man, he's still human.

Human rights isn't something you can put on/off whenever it pleases you. Once a country decides to stick to it, they have to stick to it, no matter what.

Another potential Batman shooter arrested in the US state of Maine. The police found 6 weapons in his car. He told the police that recently he had a loaded weapon with him at a cinema where the Batman film was shown.

Yes, I understand the concept of human rights. The thing that bothers me though is all the protection that people like this get. I haven't been following this story very much, but I've been hearing about how this guy is on suicide watch, and he's being kept away from other inmates and transported underground for his own safety. And that is just freaking bullshit in my opinion. Like seriously, he killed what, 12 people, and he's being protected?!?! Ughhhh, I get why, so I don't need any condescending responses explaining it to me, but it just bothers me.. The world is just so fucked up. But I just think that too much time and money is spent on wastes of space like this Holmes guy. Just kill him and get it over with..

Lol okay, I'll shut up now.

The first lawsuit is made against Warner Bros and the cinema that was showing the movie ...

Sure, next to su will be CHRISTIAN BALE? For accepting the role of Batman in such a violent movie??? Where is Yosarian to defend this God?

CHRISTIAN BALE

:wtf:

I understand your frustration. But, as absolutely anyone, he "deserves" to be judged. If he's not protected before his judgement, then he most likely won't get judged. He's gonna get death penalty anyway, so he's gonna die (probably in a few years, right ? I don't know how long the procedure is). Happy, now ?

That just shows you how absurd people are. Like Warner Bros. told this guy to shoot all these people.

On the way home, I heard Michael Savage on the radio saying that the movie should've been pulled from theaters after the shooting. Ridikulus.

Agreed.

The movie's kinda tainted from this though.. I know a handful of people who just don't want to see it anymore after this.. But ya, pulling it from theaters is maybe a little much.

Hmmm ya, but in my opinion, once you kill another life you don't deserve anything. And I'm not sure why it's so shocking to say just kill him.. But whaaatever.

I've seen it, and it was awesome. I may see it again, actually. Not sure why people wants to give that guy that pleasure. He shouldn't have any effect on people's behavior.

In that case, the judge/the person who activates the device that will kill the man doesn't deserve anything either.

As a band we would like to send our love to anyone affected by the terrible events in Aurora. CM

Just makes me so frustrated that there would be so much arguing! You guys, arguing about stuff isn't change anything that happened nor will it affect what happens in the future, all it will do is get everyone upset at each other and it's not gonna change anyone else's mind.

Yeah same, it was so good!

And no, that's hardly the same thing as murdering someone.. They would be doing the world a favour.

But, let's just agree to disagree :P

It's odd how you value a humans life so highly when a person murdered, but when it comes to the murderer, completely different story.

Stopping him from killing people ( = making the world a favour) doesn't have to include killing him. That part is just revenge, not justice. (< doesn't it remind you of something btw ? :P )

Apparently I can't convince you and you can't convince me, so, yeah, let's agree to disagree.

This is all kinds of wrong. Do you mean debating in general?

Everyone's been civil, nothings gotten personal, we've been sharing our opinions, what definitely doesn't change anything is coming in here and writing "RIP SOZ" (Not that I have anything against people doing that).

I told Empily that because earlier in this thread we had a disagreement about something (Me, Spieler and Jack Bauer or something) someone would storm in like "GUISE STOP FIGHTING WHERE IS THE LOVE", that didn't happen, it has now.

And also, your post is technically arguing. Well done.

Yeaaaaaaah. But I think I'm just a revengeful person. But he'll get what he deserves in time I suppose. Annnnnnd is that a CP reference? DAAHF? Haha, if not, I don't know :P
