Keane does suck you guys

Oh no, personal opinion, but Strangeland <<< MX!

Keane has lost me along the ride. I tried, I loved their first two albums, but this one sounds so bland and blah to me. I don't care one bit about them releasing bonus tracks and b-sides, actually playing different setlists at shows and making time to talk to fans and take pictures after shows, because I don't like their music anymore. (though, I must say I never cared about taking pictures after shows, no matter which band)

I only know their singles, but I like Keane and Muse very much :wacko:

Well, there's another thing about Keane... in this last album... it looks that they want to become... Coldplay...

 

Well, they played a lot of their songs live before releasing their album (like Coldplay did) and now...

I think other bands have done before it Coldplay (or maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I heard when Coldplay started doing that), but yes when I saw that yesterday I was almost surprised not to read "R42" in the tweet, or that it wasn't signed by "A" :lol:

Yes, sorry guys, but Keane have been taking crowd shots for a lot longer than Coldplay have... Here's a few examples from back in 2010: http://www.keanemusic.com/archive-comment.php?id=3265 So it's more Coldplay stealing this off Keane than the other way around.

 

Btw, I don't want to start a Keane vs. Coldplay fight here! I very much like both bands and am very excited to see Coldplay live next week :D

Ok, guys, but I didn't say Coldplay invented anything. I just pointed the fact that they started doing this almost at the same time (even if they did it before, they were not doing it for a while, but are doing now, and together, got it?). I am not criticizing Keane.

I don't think Keane is at all trying to be like Coldplay. I think they sound quite different, in fact. Keane's latest album, Strangeland, was definitely not their best. Silenced By the Night is a bit dull...but it's the kind of song that is good for listening to while driving in the car. Sovereign Light Cafe is definitely the star of the album. I don't know why they picked disconnected to be the next single instead of the Starting Line, which in my opinion is the best song on the album. There are a lot of songs I like on the album, but few that I love. I don't think you should give up on Keane quite yet though. I think if Tim gets the right inspiration, they could make a song that is absolutely incredible! Maybe even a song that could rival Somewhere Only We Know. Who knows. I still have hope!

(OFF: I don't know also if someone have realized but Keane's "Day Will Come" is very similar to "Don't Let it Break Your Heart" and the Bass of Muse's Madness remembers me of ETIAW. Not accusing anyone of anything. It's just cool like they are alike.)

Im not going to defend Keane or Coldplay because they are my 2 favorites groups, but I think too that Strageland was better than MX, but it isn't better than AROBTTH, X&Y or Hopes and Fears.

 

And for the record, I saw Keane live this 30 Aug and they were more than awesome,the best concert i have ever saw and the only group that I think could be better than them on stage is Coldplay and im waiting to see them next year.
