What makes you special?

Featured Replies

What makes you different from the mass of iPhone-weilding, latte-drinking, materialistic consumers out there?

Hobbies? Skills? Interests?

Or, does nothing separate you?

What makes you any different for claiming you're a special snowflake in an age where everyone feels individual and important and self-entitled to everything ?

:rolleyes3:

I'm not, that's why I'm asking you guys

I want to be different-er

When did I imply that I was particularly interesting?

I don't own an iPhone, I hate coffee, and mostly buy only stuff I need. I like to draw. Am I special? Hell I don't know. What does special even mean?

Nonono I wasn't saying anything personal about you, I was saying it half-jokingly and in a very general sense (i.e. to whomever would answer this thread with being nice and LIKING GOOD MUSIK LIEK COLDPLAY AND THE BEETLEZ!!!!1!!)

idk just do whatever makes you happy, I don't know if that makes you different but it makes you a really genuine and interesting person which I feel like is lacking a lot when it comes to people

I don't know but I want it

Hmm yeah okay.

Paint your face bright pink, maybe then you'll gain Besonderheit

man I have to go to bed now, it's 3:33 am and I have to get up in 4 hours. Have a nice evening Brent

I am having a blessed evening as I nurse the black coffee I brewed from Colombian farmers or something meh

special? hmmm....well, i like a wide variety of music, i love playing the drums (<< someone once asked me "isn't that so masculine?" i just smiled and thought "nope"), i can get lots of work done....meh...there's more, i just need to explore it

what makes someone special is their differences.....i guess one just has to explore

I don't have any phone and I don't drink coffee cause it gives me a headache. I love baking and drawing and cooking and singing and and helping my mum out in the kitchen. I grew up around people from all over the world, I made a wedding cake when I was 14. I made myself a medieval gown and I have a very sensitive sense of taste. But I hate sports, I can't play any instruments, I'm very ordinary looking, I am quite picky, and I can't call any country my home.

Does that make me special? I don't know.

We are all the same and that's why we're the rest.

But the idea that we're all special motivates us to get out of bed. Even if we don't actually believe that.

But I don't know.

I hoesntly read the title of this thread in a sarcastic tone. Like in a "What makes you special?" Then when I opened it I thought it was like a small mean dig at me seeing as I do sometimes walk around with Starbucks cups in one hand and an iphone in another. Whooops.

I'm cool. I swear.

Hmmm. I dont know if i am or ever will be special but I love Coldplay.

I don't have an iPhone (okay I do have a smartphone), I don't drink coffee.

My main interests in life are fashion, Coldplay and series. I don't think I have any skill, although I'm great at procrastinating to a pretty extreme point and getting good marks anyway lollol :awesome:

I think what makes anyone special is the combination of hobbies/skills/interests and our personal experiences, whether they're related to hobbies/skills/interests or not. So, basically, everyone's special...which means none of us is.

I love art and Roger Dean is my favourite artist.

I have self taught/teaching myself keyboard/piano.

Im currently getting A's in art and C's and B's in everything else.

I enjoy badminton.

I dont drink, smoke or take drugs, I am vegetarian.

My favourite drink is Frappuccino but i hate coffee.

I have a smartphone but not an iPhone :P

Coldplay influence how i dress and my everyday lifestyle.

I believe that together we can make the world a better place.

What's wrong with drinking coffee, everyone? Anyway, I don't feel I'm special. I'm a med student, I can cook (apparently this works well with girls(and their mothers)), I speak three languages and have gotten myself into learning a fourth, I am a bit pedantic and it peeves me to no end when I see litter on streets ( I scold people for that or give them a piercing look). I'd feel special if somebody said to me they couldn't imagine their lives without me (aside from my family, that is.) I hope I'm not weird

I don't know. I see everyone as being something special.

I'm used to be with people who are older than me, so I'm mature for my age.

I been through six opeations since 2005, so I have a lot of life experience for my age.

Unlike most young people here, I don't own a Iphone, and I don't wear expensive brands.

I don't know if that's special.

Special is being retarded.

Which you all are, especially those who are claiming that just because you like arts or qUirKy things makes you special. It doesn´t. You could be maybe different from the rest of the people in your school or just locally. But in reality there are tons of people who are just like you. You are an individual, true, but special shouldn´t really even be used as an adjective for people. Or it can be like beauty, its in the eyes of the beholder.

I like coffee, but drinking it makes me feel so miserable that I don't drink it unless I have biscotti to dip in it.

There's nothing wrong with drinking coffee. Nor is there anything wrong with using a smartphone. I do both.

It's just that EVERYONE does it. It's not unique to me or you or anyone.

There is no ritual so anonymous as that of nursing an espresso and pecking at a keyboard in a coffee house. When I created this thread, I was doing just that. I'm non-unique.

So I want to know whether to succumb to the capitalist robot overloards NOW or just wait until the Mayan calendar expires.
