I just assumed that in iTunes it's released after midnight (right at the start of friday). I'm not sure, maybe someone can tell about iTunes release times.

Hmm The article though reads "listen to the new Coldplay song for the first time ever". Does that perhaps hint to a worldwide exclusive? It does not explicitly say so, but now I am wondering whether the track will actually get a late friday release on iTunes, that is AFTER the broadcast.

I don't think it does, why would they pick a radio station from Chicago for that? That doesn't make a lot sense.

Yup. It's the Chicago station that I was basing the broadcast time off of. But am earlier itunes release would be enough to make me trade in my android, lol.

We don't know that. It could be that they pick a time to release it when it's the 6th in every country and that would mean every country has a different release time. Evening in Australia/Asia, afternoon in Europe and morning in South and North America.

It's a CBS affiliate. CBS being a national network will probably broadcast it on all its stations. Just a guess but That's how they usually do these things.

I agree it would be ridicolous. But remember that this is more about promoting an American movie than a British band's new single. So ridiculous might go with the territory in this case.

I agree. As it is tied in with Hunger Games, I would actually be quite surprised if the premiere was NOT done on an american radio, but tomorrow all my questions will be answered hehe

 

I also do not understand the pre-order link ONLY on the UK iTunes Store. I swear Atlas release is really one messy affair :)

Absolute Radio will play Atlas at the same time as in Chicago (4 PM in London is 10 AM in Chicago):

I knew it...It was a worldwide premiere, so we will have to wait until Friday evening for Atlas to be released on the iTunes Store :/ Oh well, the radio premiere is always fun to follow together with other Coldplayers :) :gossip:
