Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said: "Buying a ticket to this concert will guarantee two things: a totally unique never-to-be-repeated night of star-spangled entertainment, and money in the Christmas coffers of a charity that brings love and happiness to London's most vulnerable kids."

Fearne Cotton will host the evening, which is raising money for Kids Company - a charity which works with vulnerable children and young people in London and Bristol.

Coldplay headlined the first U1R concert in 2011 at London's O2 with support from Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge, Tinie Tempah, Rob Brydon and Emeli Sandé, raising over £400,000.

Tickets go on sale this Thursday, November 14 at 9am.

Instruments and outfits from the band's Mylo Xyloto world tour will also be auctioned via eBay for Kids Company.

The charity's founder Camila Batmanghelidjh said: "When you feel happy your heart flips - Coldplay have made thousands of children's heart flip not just through their music but through their kindness and support.

"The concert will bring together some incredible talent under one roof to help some incredibly courageous, vulnerable children who are surviving their childhood so that they might have a brighter future."

I hope they bring in some anti-touting measures, such as having it ticketless (show your payment card & booking reference to get in).

Me too. I am so desperately hoping to get tickets to this. I remember the stress off trying to get tickets to the Emirates and the Little Noises. If they are all gone in the first 20 seconds, it's got to be touts, hasn't it?

They better play Christmas Lights.

 Oh god that would be amazing. Hyperventilates ...
