SO I JUST CAME BACK FROM THE VIDEO FILMING…… KEY POINTS

- Saw Phil while going inside, accidentally called his name out from pure reflex and shock but he didnt hear me thank god

- Saw lovely roadies/crew memvers, Woody, Matt, Dave Holmes, etc

- THE FUCKING STAGE SET HOLY SHIT….. IT WAS SO NICE AND INTIMATE AND GOD, LIKE IT’S SO AMAZING….. STARS AND DEAD TREES AND DIM LIGHTING AND CIRCULAR YEAH

- Chris revealed why he went on the Voice: he addressed that, yeah, he had problems with shows like it but when they invited him on he went and realized how nice it is, and how amazing it is to give advice to people who are in the the same position to how he was, that it was inspiring and it changed his view

- Filming is for a special on NBC (Chris explained a lot of concepts about it and it sounds so nice, like ill give details if wanted)

- A lot of heckling and Chris jokes (“I bet Harry Styles doesnt have to put up with this shit”)

- I know the behind story about that pic of Chris on a diving board (ill give details if wanted)

- Guy’s handsomeness

- Chris telling us about Will’s evil stare and how he’s the band’s rock/leader and how he appeared on Game of Throne lmao

- Flying Chris. Literally. (details if wanted etc)

- No tour plans at the moment, except for maybe these intimate and small shows

- Chris hugging Guy<3 And touching/interacting with Jonny, Will, and Phil

- Chris sweated a LOT. Messed up some technical shots lmao (if youre wondering who wipes his sweat: a woman named tiffany)

- Heard two GS songs besides the ones we’ve heard/that have been released: True Love and A Sky Full of Stars (both great, ASFoS is gonna be a new fav for people, i can feel it)

- Chris taught us a bit of ASFoS to sing for the filming (Yea, Yea, Yea, WHOO)

- So much fucking Chris banter and talking, im…..

- lot of technical shots

all i can think of at the top of my head…. ill type up a better review with details if wanted when i properly get home tomorrow…… Boys are back and amazing and humble and reminded me why they are my fav band in the whole world f * c k

OMG, this is awesome! The stage sounds amazing. I LOVE Chris's sense of humor! I wish I could have been there. As for the above, 1) I never doubted Chris for a second when it came to The Voice. ;) 2) YES, YES, DETAILS, FOR ALL OF IT! 3) Those details include INTIMATE details of Buckin'! :) 4) I will pay THEM to become Tiffany. They can save money, just hire me. Thanks so much, Ceren, for the post and the excitement.

Coldplay preview 'Ghost Stories' at intimate LA gig Photo: GettyColdplay debuted new album 'Ghost Stories' at an intimate gig in Los Angeles on Friday (March 21).

According to Rolling Stone, the band played the new album in its entirety for the first time to 800 lucky fans on a movie soundstage at Sony Studios. The gig was being recorded as part of a DVD extra for the album, which is released on May 19.

The band had previously previewed a couple of the album's tracks at SXSW, performing at the first ever iTunes Festival show at the US event. However, they performed tracks from the album for the first time at the DVD recording, including 'O (Fly On'), which was described as a "vulnerable piano ballad".

Meanwhile, Coldplay have donated £260k to BBC Radio 2 DJ Jo Whiley's Sport Relief fundraising efforts. Whiley is the latest big name star to complete a huge physical task in order to raise money for the charity and jogged on a treadmill housed inside a perspex box outside the BBC New Broadcasting House London for 26 hours straight, finishing last night (March 20).

Taking breaks only to receive medical attention, Whiley defied a thigh injury as she completed the gruelling challenge as part of BBC Radio Around the World for Sport Relief, in which figures from the BBC's local and national radio stations are attempting to run, swim and cycle a combined distance of 25,000 miles.

For anyone who was at the shoot/ concert: Which previous Coldplay album(s) is Ghost Stories most similar too AND Do you think it could be their most critically praised album to date (surpassing AROBTTH)?

Cross posting my "review"...two cent!

After watching Coldplay's video shoot for the NBC special to air in a month, there is no doubt Ghost Stories is going to be special. You feel it the moment you step off the studio lot and into a dark room with bare trees lit by candles, set like a midnight forest.

The film being produced with the concept album brings to mind many possible story lines. Are the lyrics referring to the life of an enduring love and eternal hope or to the ending of hopes, dreams and life itself. It will take a closer listen to figure it out or wait for the band to tell us the meaning of the new album.

But this much is certain. Coldplay remains a great band because it keeps challenging itself to test new concepts while holding on to the childlike qualities than fans find endearing. Guy Berryman -- whose influence can be heard on these tracks -- runs his hands through laser beams to play the baseline of “Midnight,” Will Champion plays the boss even though Chris Martin is managing the stage, Jonny Buckland is quiet Jonny, and Chris leaps to new heights in an aerial display of his agility that we’ve come to know from large stages. The self-deprecating humor and charm endure.

There is so much more to be said about the Coldplay of 2014 and whether the music reflects a new level of maturity and introspection -- a Peter Pan-like fantasy against the backdrop of real human emotions about love and self-esteem.

Without any tour dates set, it is difficult to see how the theater-in-the-round setting an the intimacy of the new songs will lend themselves to large stage productions. The current set is truly an enchanting one that all true Coldplayers should see.

I am lucky enough to be able to return to the sound stage this afternoon to get another look and take it all. As always, whenever I see them, I hope the next time I see them is sooner than later.

See you soon Coldplay!
