Sparky, are there any plugins or whatever available to stop this? It's getting really annoying :sweatdrop:

They add more threads faster than we can report them. :disappointed:

One effective way is to not allow new accounts to create new threads. Make them wait a week or a month before having that privilege.

Then human new members can't make a thread to introduce themselves anymore though, but it's not a bad idea I think

I dont know where these spams come from but I'm sorry Mackplay, I dont think thats a good idea. Everyone should be allowed to post new threads regardless new and old members in my opinion. Maybe we just need to wait for Sparky's response and see what he says. The only thing I know now based on he said the other day was the system (or whatever you call it) hasnt been upgraded yet and he couldnt get rid of spams immediately unless if he sees or we report them to him and other mods.

What about back-up Mods who earn that privilege whenever no more mods are online

But....but....how else am I find out that I can be provided with exceptional services such as:

'Get your love back by indian black magic', 'your life and love related all problem solution' and the world famous 'baba astrologer'

How can you deprive us of these grammatically incorrect, suspicious services?

LOL! Good point

I noticed there is no captcha type thing at the register maybe get one of them put on it !!

I know the forum has been hit with an awful lot of spam today. I am making updates regularly on the spam front but each one needs to be tested first and it takes time. There isn't any magic wands, well...there's supposed to be a few in a form of a plugin but with a forum this size, conflicts often happen and some result in not allowing anyone to register. There are a few things I have in mind. There will be a solution which will prevent most spammers but its getting a balance right so it doesn't affect genuine new members trying to post, which is important so all in good time, the hammer is on its way down!

There is a play thru game instead of captcha as its more secure but the spammers who are registering are not bots, they are even scrolling down the list to pick India as their country flag!
