December 16, 201510 yr I realized why Coldplay is perfect for the Superbowl. Unlike other shows where stars are basically showing off their bodies or where theres the risk of like a nipslip or something, Coldplay makes music for everyone. This year the show wont be for only people who like hip hop or r&b, everyone will be able to enjoy it. I expect more people to actually watch it then usual. I'm honestly convinced most of the US believes their last album was X&Y. So the halftime show should be an eye opener for most.

December 16, 201510 yr *swoops in on the back of a bald eagle* Everyone I know knows at least up to Viva la Vida.
December 16, 201510 yr *swoops in on the back of a bald eagle* Everyone I know knows at least up to Viva la Vida. Viva exists as a single to most people. Coldplay is very much still "that clocks band" to a LOT of people I've overheard or talked to.
December 16, 201510 yr What is it that makes you so connected to Coldplay? We are fans for a reason, we love their music. Their music has meaning to us. What is Coldplay's meaning to you? What does their music mean to you? Well I think they write terrific tunes, but what really sets them apart ultimately to me is that I feel they are my homies :) I really relate to how they are, the kind of people I see them to be through interviews, music, etc, very much in sync with how I am. Its four guys I can imagine having as my buddies if I´d meet them. Most of all they seem to write my life! Almost each great significant moment in my life is associated to one of their songs. And its such a gift and a blessing to me to have their music to walk me through and accompany my crazy journey on this earth :)
December 16, 201510 yr Viva exists as a single to most people. Coldplay is very much still "that clocks band" to a LOT of people I've overheard or talked to. Tbh, I dont think many people know anything beyond the singles. They might be the 'clocks band' but I've never heard anyone refer to them as "that A Whisper band." Same goes for all the other albums...

December 31, 201510 yr The reason is a long one, however I'll make it as short as possible. The band's style... I just don't know, but it sets them apart from most other artists. There's just Coldplay's signature sound to them, and they always make the songs sound so beautiful and rich... the songs these days are just carelessly put together, without really any thought, at least that's what it feels like. I really like the songs on the radio that feel "rich" and "complete" in that sense, and they mean something. One night I looked up random Coldplay songs and EVERY SINGLE ONE fo them (looked up about 12) felt like that amazing feeling you get on the radio when that song you just loves comes on. It's just magic. I don't know why it is... Coldplay's magic in their songs is just what attracts me. Have no idea really of what it is. It could be this thoughL Particularly, I loved how Coldplay always made it a point to be harmonious in their chords, and it was at that point I knew I had found the band that I had been in search of. It definetely plays a big part. But there's something bigger I think I'm missing in my true answer and I have no idea what it is. I could write a 300 mile long post about why I love Coldplay so much and try to find a way to explain it but that way I'd be picking at this "magical fabric" too much and it might almost be completely fallen apart. What's magic about them is magic about them, and it's almost better if I just relax and listen to the music then try to figure out what it is. At this point, I'll just call it... the Coldplay magic. I think that's good enough. :) Interestingly enough that's one of the times where I just let the letters flow as I type them... I explain my true thoughts and feelings and I love when that happens! I feel so good and it's happrninh right now. I think it's good for me, really lets me feel how I actually am because I'm actually typing it instead of keeping it locked up inside :) I think those are the times when your things make the most sense. It just comes directly on the screen from your brain and I guess that's the best way to describe it I guess, it's just wonderous. Especially it helps with topics I'm particularely affected about like this one. :) I know, that last paragraph was just an interesting thought my brain had, not really related but Coldplay but that doesn't mattee! IMO it's true... :P
December 31, 201510 yr I could write a 300 mile long post And I could write a song a hundred miles long..

It does indeed help to get things out that way. I find these days sometimes I´d sit and record an audio diary of the day, helps me getting things out and sorted :)

January 3, 201610 yr Author Correct I had APEngLang, I remember that exact assignment with ethos, pathos and logos. Sounds to me you have a great paper. Best of luck :)
January 10, 201610 yr I'm honestly convinced most of the US believes their last album was X&Y. So the halftime show should be an eye opener for most. Disagree. Coldplay has been continuously hitting high in the charts with every album. They are the biggest band in the WORLD, remember? And we have been following right along with the Brits. Don't forget latest album has been spiced with Beyoncé (American), a splash of Jay-Z (American) and and 1/4 cup Gwyneth P (American). And it's being performed at the biggest American sporting event. I'm thinking it may be an eye opener for the Brits? [emoji12]
January 10, 201610 yr I'm honestly convinced most of the US believes their last album was X&Y. So the halftime show should be an eye opener for most. Viva was the best-selling album of 2008, Viva (The song) topped charts in the US. Same with Paradise. So I highly doubt that, being an American myself.

And yet Coldplay is still the boring melancholy band in everyone's eyes from social media to the news? They haven't done anything "melancholy" or "boring" in years.
January 10, 201610 yr They haven't done anything "melancholy" or "boring" in years. I think True Love and Army Of One invalidates this statement :laugh3:
