Watch Sigur Rós Perform Three New Songs

Last month, Sigur Rós teased that they were working on more "aggressive" material following the departure of multi-instrumentalist Kjartan Sveinsson. Consequence of Sound is now pointing to video of them performing three new tracks, which are reportedly titled “Kveikur”, “Yfirborð”, and “Hrafntinna”.

Sigur Rós' new album Kveikur is out June 17 internationally and June 18 in the U.S. via XL. Last night, they premiered the title track from their upcoming album on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon".

:bomb: yes! Now that song is better than their whole last album. They are back in the way I love it! So much good music this year in prospect.

Glad to see positive comments on 'Kveikur'. If it's a bit different from 'Valtari',most of which I really liked, I have a reason more to look forward to the summer. Anyone care to share thoughts on 'Brenninsteinn'? Won't be able to listen to it until after Easter :/

Both Brenninsteinn and Kviekur are egregious, I think the album is going to be a gold one plus they are giving more space to the bass or is it just my impression?

I loved all three/four new songs but I haven't listened to them enough to give a proper opinion. I think I like Kveikur best.

Other EP songs are nice instrumentals too

Outstandingly bad, yet remarkably good? I guess we've found a word for the phrase "it's so bad it's good"

So I managed to get a taste of "Kveikur" and "Brennisteinn" and they are both brilliant :bomb: So difficult not to get my hopes high about this forthcoming album.

They were really good last night at Madison Square Garden:

 

+Tim Hecker (even though 90% of people probably didn't appreciate it)

+Basinski's Disintegration Loops playing after Tim Hecker's set

+New songs sound absolutely massive

+New light show that complements songs really well

+Crowd was different than the usual @ MSG. For the most part, respectful and not talking during songs
