i have the luxury of being able to listen to music all day at work on my headphones. i usually choose music that's not gonna intefer too much, ambient techno and experimental electronica being the usual choice. I got hold of Agaetis Byrjun one day just coz i liked the name of the band and the album and didn't do any work for the entire duration of the album. It absolutely blew me away. It's a truly georgeous album. Absolutely stunning. I've not seem 'em live yet but i'm gonna when they play in the UK next coz they just blow me away on CD and i can't imagine where they'd take me at a gig.

Sigur Rós are not great on record, but pretty amazing live. I recommend them as a therapeutic way to wean yourself off Coldplay. Go, my children. Go and scamper in the Icelandic fields of dew-spattered grass and frolicking pixies with Downs syndrome and all that drivel.

Good band.
